  2. penji... wow you should be proud of all the things youve achieved. It sounds like you have a good amount of self control whcih is really good! Dont think your alone...there is always someone who is feeling the same or can relate you jus need to find them. With the whole marriage thing...you will find a singh who will be at the same level of sikhi as you or you can educate him. Dont worry about it.

  6. wel once in my history class we watched a video of the 11 remaining WW1 soldiers. There was one who had lost his best friend in the War and never knew if he was foud or not. This name was reaching the age of 100 and for the first time decided to finally go to france where the WW1 grave and memorial site is and search for his friend knowing that this would be the last time. He found it and it was in the ist of unfound soldiers. I was sitting there and in tears becuase this man was so determined to find him friend...it made me think how valueable my friends are. the second funny thing was that he never married his girlfriend which he had gone out with before the war and before we went away. Although they were still together and she was nearly 95...they spent there whole lives together but didnt marry...weird...ok not that inspirational but funny =]

  9. can i say jus one thing....whilst every one gets all serious and really backing there cases a lil post like thi comes along ^^ abovehahaha jus made me laugh!! rightiee now on the serious side.... I think that both parties were wrong. The girl firstly shouldnt have been going out with anyone...regardless of if he was "sikh" [which is being used quite loosly in some cases] or muslim. It doesnt matter if she was 21 16 or 45 its still a mistake....ok she has time to learn from it. The parent should never force. Thats not the job of a parent, they should guide the children. Although sometimes if the child is BLATENTLY wrong and the parent sees this they should sort thi out together now forcing anything on anyone. At the end of the day the Child will eventully realise her mistake...if that 10 days, months or years later then so be it but s/he will learn for them selves,I dont mean the parents should stand back at let the child run wild and stuff because oviously thats wrong but if they dont want to listen to you then the only way to show then is to leave them to figure it out for them selves hunna? No one has the right to forcefully marry anyone else to someone! But i can empathisize with the family...oviously they dealt with it the wrong way. woo i love writting long posts =] Fateh ji

  15. ok... i think that in some aspects SP did a good job...but now its more of a n image thing....I know a few people who i would class as SP but then you have the wannabes who kill it and think that they are the top man. I dont agree with some of the violence they are known for but i have to admit that the propa SP guys follow rehat and all soo....
  16. religion is external... things on the outside influence you more spiritual is when it is found inside you.
  17. Hmm you know wot....I hav 2 u say that you hav a point there!
  18. U arent living to your potential Sikhi wise... Try and live to your potential then! SIMPLE Have you looked into sikhi fully or is changing you religion an easy way out? Ok if you have looked deep into Sikhi and you still dont agree then personally i think then if you want to change you religion then fine...But how can you leave your Sikhi which was Guru ji's Kirpa to you when you havnt discovered your full potential in Sikhi yet? Fateh ji
  19. I went to a sikhi talk recently and the speaker ji was talking about this very thing...well this is my understanding of what he said that... Their are layers of things which make up what you are this is the whole order that was given Artma [soul] Surti [Consciousness] Chitr Gupt [hidden records] Maan [Mind] Sareen [body] Gristi [Family] Sangat Samaag [social system/society] Kudarat [Nature> existance] Hukam Ik Onkar Your soul/Artma isnt really you/yours.... I was given this example that if there is a bulb [parmatma] and that light from that is shone the beam of light [Artma]. If someone was to put a glass box [sareen] around that beam you wouldnt say that now the glass box owns the beam of light? Your Maan is the Instrument of change and the source of throughts and remeberance. Your artma is your soul which is carried through all the life forms.

  21. ok myn is a lil borin.... in the hospital before we got to the gurdwara the nurses askd for a name 2 put on my card thingy...my dad called me Rani Kaur i dunno why but he called my 2 older siters Rani Kaur in the hospital aswel. At the gurdwara i got the letter G. My mum wantd the letter V to called me Vishal [which would have been soooo cool!] my bibi wanted to call me Gurbachan :s My mum thankfully said that they should think about how all the kids at school would say my name and how with a western accent its not the best name to have...plus she wasnt that keen on the name. She liked the name Gurpreet beucause it was my great grandfathers name =].
