Veer Manpreet Singh, a lay preacher, claims that -Sikhs aren't supposed to worship Guru Granth Sahib ji. -We are only supposed to worship God as is written in Guru Granth Sahib ji. -We only "revere" Guru Granth Sahib ji. He says a lot of other things in this video, some are good refutations of Hindu superstitions, but the reformers often go too far. Anyways, what he is saying about not worshipping Guru Granth Sahib ji is totally wrong. The reason is Guru Granth Sahib ji is Guru. Guru is Satguru. Satguru is God. We worship God. Therefore, we also worship Satguru (Guru Granth Sahib ji). There are innumerable verses in Gurbani equating God and Guru. The Guru is the Supreme Lord and the Transcendent Master. The Guru floats (saves) the drowning one. p49 ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥ Know the Guru and God as One. p864 ਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਖੋਜਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡੁ ॥ There is no one at par with the Guru. I have searched and seen the whole universe. p49 (If the Guru is the greatest in the whole universe, shouldn't we worship the Guru?) I'd like to ask Manpreet Singh what is worship? Any reasonable definition would include obeisance, remembrance, and praise. Those are exactly the same things Gurbani says to do regarding Guru! Ever, ever, I think of the True Guru, and the Guru's feet I brush with my head's hair. p387 Praise: ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ The Guru himself is the transcendent Lord and the supreme master. Throughout the eight watches of the day, O Nanak meditate thou on the Guru. p387 In fact, Gurbani says the way to find God is to worship (puja) of Guru: ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋਇ ਧੋਇ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹੁ ਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Washing and bathing the True Guru's feet, worship thou them. In this way thou shall obtain my Lord Master. Pause. p1118 Could it be any clearer that we are to worship Guru ji?

I am in big dilemma. As we all know that waheguru ji everywhere. I also understand that it is important to go to gurudwara sahib as well. My question is that if i do ardaas at home or any other place other than gurudwara sahib, will it be heard and acknowledged by guru sahib or it is always important to go to gurudwara sahib and do ardaas at gurudwara sahib for guru sahib to acknowledge it? I always do path and ardaas at home in front of harmandir sahib photo or hazur sahib photo and then for important things i make a list and go to gurudwara sahib to do the ardaas there because i think that if i do ardaas in front of guru granth sahib then it will be more accepted by guru sahib. On the other hand i think that if i am doing ardaas in front of harmandir sahib or hazur sahib photo and redoing the same ardaas at gurudwara sahib, i feel that i am not respecting the authority of harmandir sahib or hazur sahib. Because of all this, I wait to find a quite time at gurudwara sahib when there is less or no sangat so that I can open my list and read and do ardaas spend 10-15 minutes on average to do ardaas. If there are lot of people, i can't do ardaas due to people in the lineup and I don't want to block access to them while i am spending so much time doing ardaas. If i leave without doing ardaas then i am embarrassed, disappointed and sad and then OCD kicks in. Kindly help!

WARNING: IF YOU ARE GOING TO COMMENT ON MY POSTS, PLEASE BE MATURE AND ONLY USE FACTS, NO DRAMA PLEASE Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sikhs often love to claim that their "holy book" (Ignore the Abrehamic context) was written and sealed by its founders, and Sikhs still use the same version to this day. However, there have been numerous controversies over the validity of certain passages (you all know what im talking about). Since the original Saroop of the Guru that was written by Bhai Mani Singh Ji and overlooked by Guru Gobind Singh Ji at damdama sahib in 1708 has been lost, and numerious others were destroyed as recently as in 1984 by the Indian Government (they still refuse to give some back), how will have Sikhs preserved the Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

Beware of Muslims ! Sikh brothers awake and be very cautious. The Muslims to whom you say our brothers and u say they are very close to us . You say they are better than Hindus ; you must watch this video .from this you can understand what is a Muslim thought psychology . Must see this video where Muslims say they will not take even food langar from Gurdwara because it it is HARAAM. They will not allow any Gurbani Kirtan in their masjid mosque. https://fb.watch/9NOB2YKe_3/ You must acknowledge this bitterroot that Muslims do not bow to our Siri guru Granth sahib ji even if they come to our Gurdwara. Most of them consider us as Kafir. They are from a totally different civilization which can not match anywhere, anytime with the Sikh thoughts.

A simple question but say compared to other religions where there is just one main 'prophet' Why were there 10 Gurus in 'human' form? Why so many?
-
It takes placed during the 16th century, between the well known first guru, and the last. A muslim boy, finds Guru, mysterious and wise, amongst Hindu and Muslim rule, and it is an epic tale. But I was wondering historically, between 1550-1600 were there any significant issues in Sikh history, that I would want to talk about?

Hi all, Masturbation is healthy every week or so, I think, and reduces prostate cancer, so how do Sikhs view this, because I was always taught it was wrong, but surely the scientific health benefit is more important? Maybe, similar to sex, which also releases good hormones in the, but also banned by people I know. If it does in moderation and lovingly, then is it alright, with God's kirpa?

https://www.<banned site filter activated>/htmls/article_samparda_sodhis2.html Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Hello Sangat Ji, As i was perusing twitter i came across an interesting thread regarding the matter I linked in this post. I am wondering if someone can shed light on this matter, as it does not seem something like Khalsa would or should do, at least from the teachings of the Gurus/what I have been taught throughout the years. Forcing women to convert and marry? Digging up bodies and feeding them pork? Granted Nassir Ali committed many atrocities and in the same fashion, but my understanding was that Sikhi was never really about an eye for eye like that or going as far as digging up a dead body? Also can someone explain to me what it means by these various people claiming gur gaddi even after Sir Guru Granth Sahib Ji was made the Guru?

I'm sick and tired of these people, if you born a male you are a male, if you born female you are a female, if weheguru is perfect why do they disagree, so weird to me, gender neutral etc

I've heard that reading the guru Granth sahib ji should ideally be read in gurmukhi, as the English transaltion maybe slightly distorted in terms of its meaning , and may also be rather opionated by the author who imprints the translation, is this true? I'm unable to read or understand gurmukhi and my only option is to read translation in English Also I would like to ask how all you gurusikhs maintain constant love and devotion (what kind of thoughts do you have) when reading the gurubani, because I seem to lose interest if the paath is significantly long(eg sukhmani sahib paath) Lastly is it ok to just listen to the path, or must I physically recite it? May waheguru ji bless you all.
