Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh I have a question for which I need suggestion/help from the members basee on their experience and learning. Whenever I sit to do path or simran, my mind wanders a lot. Its been 5 months now but I cant fix my mind at one place even for 2 minutes. Sometimes when I am doing path I would not even realise that I have finished half of the path and not being there. My mind is day dreaming and thinking various things and the visions are in front of me This is really painful as I try my level best to concentrate but after a while I am somewhere else. I want to be able to develop my focus and grow from there. I make myself sit for even an hour sometimes but I am always unconfortable, changing positions and mind going in various places. I am going through a difficult time in my life and undertand that my stress could also be the reason but I try to calm and relax myself before sitting down but still not reaching there. Please advise me how to focus and concentrate. If there are any ideas/yuktis I will really appreciate and be indebted my whole life.

Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh. My question is how do i do simran at Work? I really want to spend my work hours remembering the name, at least say satnam Waheguru, but often times, work is so stressful that i am influenced by the events and forget to take his name. Everyday i get frustrated that i could not do simran properly because i was caught up in the events. Why is it not working for me. It is actually making me more stressful than my work problems.

VJKK VJKF I have recently started back my attempts at walking sant da marag after a brief run in with atheism. I was wondering if there is any special technique to simran or if what I was doing was what most sikhs use. Also, is focusing on chakras gurmat? Do chakras even exist in gurmat? How can I enter a state of samadhi? Thanks.

While doing simran in the morning, my mind always goes elsewhere (or I'm half asleep) so I'm looking for tuks in gurbani to keep in mind. Also, while doing simran on the harmonium in the afternoon, I would also like more tuks to sing. Any help?

God grace I use to go to amritvela simran with sangat daily and I was overjoyed happy just loved it. Last year I began working full time job n it was at night so I would miss amritvela simran. I feel miserable without that sangat n simran and really dont have interest in earning so much money I just need a little to survive n I don't have interest in marriage or kids. When I'm at work I'm 99 percent of the time watching sangat on YouTube during simran and participating. Kind of feel depressed without being there and life seems pointless without simran n sangat. I use to be a bouncer at a club n I would get to simran amritvela in the morning that was my favorite job because of the fighting not females I just spoke to them normally as if they were my family. My current job is easy but 4 days out of the week n 3 days all get to do simran with sangat is like what I look forward too. Just to go to gurudwara is something I cant live with at all. I go straight after work to the gurudwara but amritvela is different. Any suggestions

In order to get ANYWHERE in your Jeevan it is vital to take out 2.5 hours for Akaal Purakh, on top of the 7 Daily prayers we all fondly and dutly do. 2.5 hours can be Mool mantar, Gurmantar (1.15 hour on each) or Gurmantar followed by one Sukhmani Sahib (this prayer takes an hour) or three Baanias from Dasam Granth (which could take an hour) followed by going Gurudwara for 1.5 hours of Simran, Seva and Sangat. In short no Matter what u select it should be 2.5 hours minimum, time excluded from 7 Baanias. Now, there are two dangers here. First, "I can't concentrate so I won't do it..." This is something I call Jargon. It's jargon because as soon as we think "Concentrate" we forget about the MAIN MAIN task at hand completely... Which is to do the Naam Simran or selected prayers. "I will do 30 mins woth focus then buold it up..." WRONG! Just do 2.5 straight, focus will come to u slowly. Second danger, "I don't have time" this is an excuse! You have 24 hours for 2.3 hours of Prayers. If u work from 8am you have all the time in Amritvela. To conclude, if u wish for your mann chanchalas to stop, jeevan to succeed, understand God's Hukam, be liberated, 2.5 is just the start.

listened to katha about this a while back, but can't find the video now. I believe the story of the churning of the ocean is mentioned in bani as well. The Devte decided to churn the ocean to get amrit, the nectar of immortality, which was right at the bottom of the ocean. But it was a difficult task and they had to ask the demons to help them. Using a giant snake, a mountain and a turtle(Vishnu) they started churning the ocean. The demons complained that why should they hold the tail end of the snake? so they swapped and the devte held the tail end while the demons held the head, the exhaustion resulted in the snake releasing poison and toxic air towards the demons. They churned and churned, to the point of exhaustion, Vishnu then decided to give them strength. All sorts of treasures came out, beautiful creatures, devis etc but they kept on churning because it was the amrit that they wanted. After much effort they finally reached the amrit and tasted it. The story symbolises a lot of things. The devte represent the good in us, the demons the bad in us. The struggle represents our struggle on the path of spirituality and meditation, the churning represents our mind and removing the filth. After a very long struggle the first treasures started appearing, but these treasures were just some of the gifts that come with meditation, not the goal. After much more struggle they finally reached the Amrit, the nectar of immortality. When doing simran, it takes a lot of patience, you often struggle. And then you start experiencing the gifts, but these gifts are not the aim, after more simran/churning you finally experience the amrit. Correct me if I've said anything wrong ?

Hi, I go through loads of mood swings throughout my daily life and this is really unproductive. For the past few weeks I've managed to stick to 15 minutes of simran a day, and usually after I get up I just feel so much more blissful, calm and composed (also it saves me from 5 chore a lot). What I want to ask is if anyone can recommend ways that I can remain in this state of mind all the time, if not forever haha? Please do tell me about any personal experience as well I'd love to read about them! Thanks!

What is it called when the tongue automatically starts reciting Mool Mantar or gur Mantar. What is this stage? What can be done to progress spiritually

VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, I know we are told to jap naam 24 hours a day, everyday but the question I have is that is there any difference in experience or levels of lahaa (wealth gained by naam) if I do it while I walk around or if I do simran in a quiet place in meditation? I ask about lahaa because you are more focused on naam when you meditate upon it so I'm assuming you can connect more and so on. Bani says MEDITATE upon Waheguru but also that jap naam 24 hours or 8 pehr (8 stages of the day)? I have tried to jap naam all day and don't feel or experience anything as such but it keeps on going throughout the day but when I meditate I feel like I can concentrate on naam more. Any help or advice? Vaheguru Ji.

I hear what sounds like an xylophone, it’s very quiet and constant..... but when I stop saying Waheguru to listen if it is the tv downstairs- it stops. Can this sound be a good small sign? Is it normal to hear only when I am chanting or does it sound like it’s just my ears playing up.

I plan to do Wah with incoming breath and Guru with outgoing for 1 hour morning and evening - anyone has any experience doing something similar and how did it impact your day to day lives Also while doing it I will try to maintain awareness of the whole body (energy body as well as physical)
-
Today I did a bit of simran and Mool Mantar and I feel very dazzy in a good way. I also felt an energy around me while doing simran. Is this normal? Does this mean any thing?
