Why In Kirtan

Recommended Posts

Because people don't sing in the Raag which Guru Ji is speaking to us, as Raag is an emotion and mood of Guru Ji's voice when the Shabad Guru speaks to us.

Sadly because people don't play in Raag, so it sounds embarrassing for the kirtani said 'maajh mehalaa 4' and then sang something completely different.

We should all do our best and strive to sing in Raag. (p.s. you can sing in Raag and still do AKJ style kirtan, e.g. chardikala simran while singing shabad... Bhai Gurdev Singh Australia Wale is a good example of an AKJ kirtani who sings in Raag)
