1947, Pakistan Or Hindustan?

Mehtab Singh je, I am not talking of the type of 'influence' you are talking about.

mere influence kaa matlab yeh hai....ke if one is living in a desert, then you are influenced by the desert.

If one is living amongst forests and thick vegetation regions then one is influenced by all the greenery and natural beauty.

If on is living in snowy regions, then one is influenced by the beauty of the snow.

Ab kuch gal saaf hui ke nahin.

well Gurujee came to Punjab which is very hot in summer and very cold in winter...therefore He asked us to wear turbans, to protect the head in both summer and winter...and to keep beard, to protect skin in summer and from cold in winter...so by that logic, u r right...probably He was influenced by the climate

"Even when indra gandhi attacked Sri Darbar Sahib, british PM margaret thatcher called her up and asked "do u know what u have done? do u have any idea which community u have messed with? have u never read their history?""

that's hard-core...you have any references mehtab singha?

oh my God i picked up a punjbai newspaper the other day at gurughar nad i saw a pic of Badal's wife and his family members bowing down to Ashutosh! Behind them was a SGPC member amritdhari sikh bowing to a picture of ashutosh. Peopel in Punjab are doing drugs and getting away from sikhi but our leadership is also getting away from SGGS. If our leadership has disowned SGGS well that explains what is happening in Punjab today with sants and all...

No veeray, one of my Sikh friends told me, and he said he read it somewhere, so i juz took his word on this one, and actually it makes sense, coz the british are more aware of Sikh history as compared to indians, coz all indians know is "barah bajj gaye"

For those guys who think we should not have a seperate nation state....Look at history and you can see how our community was taken for granted, persecuted until people said enough was enough and changed the tide... not to oppress the oppresser but to free themselves from their hold so that our communities lives were not in the enemies hands.

But some of our own people do not learn from history.... our community has too many Indian / pakistan govt loyalists who are willing to sell their mothers even to appease the Indian unionists, congress and pakistan govt isi terrorists.

When our community is being attacked why dont people who claim to be Sikhs promote unity, fight the enemy and yes be a seperatist if your being persecuted in your own country instead of siding with those who want to do you harm, maybe not in short term but in long term definately.

All these anti-khalistani baffons need to wake up... either your with us or against us.....because theres nothing for seperatists to be shy about especially seeing what 1947 and 1984 brought for our community letting other people decide the fate of our people.

To all anti-Khalistani's do you think India govt and non-sikh population would take you more seriously without the shadow of Khalistan militancy? Becos I can tell you now without power or force in that region your life as a member of minority community in the Indian union would have been worth nothing. Look at the poor dalit /sudra's ...they have no power or force and they are treated worse than animals by majority of Indians.

Minorities in India ...--->Buddhists have had their religion ravaged by hindu fanatics, Jains are seen as hindu's and taken for granted, pari's very few in number but have alot of influence in political circles. Muslims, Christians and Sikhs are treated like foreigners in their own homelands.

Sikh_supreme, yes you are right in a sense that minorities in India are not treated fairly. Either minorities are pampered to no limits or they are pushed into a deep pit that is deeper than mother earth herself.

My belief is this, whether I like India or don't like India is immaterial. God decided that India is where I should be born and thus this is the place which is my 'karambhoomi'. Here I have better opportunities to help other people and serve humanity better than say if I were in the 'west' etc thus if God has given you birth here then you must serve the country to serve God and deliver justice to God's belief in yourself.

But ofcourse one should always be on guard, because I can't take anyone for granted. I don't trust what people here say or anything because my only duty is towards God himself.

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
