Hello all, Sat sri akal, I dont eat meat, but now I am thinking about it. I found out that the tenth Guru and his Sikhs ate meat, and I am thinking that maybe somehow vegetarianism got built in our faith becasue we live with a billion Hindus lol. I also found out that Guru Nanak Dev Ji ate meat to show the Bhramin a leason that eating meat doesnt make you unholly. But I am afraid, I dont want to make a mistake, before i never use to eat meat because i thought Sikhs dont, and I also felt bad to eat another animal. SO I AM VERY CONFUSED

Please give me advise, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont turn this into another debate. Just focus on me, and give me advise. Thank you

Sat Sri Akal

veer jee i dont think you should change, keep on the safe side. Also i dont think that the tenth guru ate meat or the singhs. Meat also increases your vices.

Heres something to think about would the chalee muktae have left if they could eat there own horses Also singhs were strong with the shaktee they had in them and the meditation they did.

if i hav offended any1 i do apologise

bhaul chauk maaf

Don't worry bro, it is alright to eat it as long as it is not halal or slaughtered acoording to some other religion as a ritual. It is up to you. If you don't think it is right, don't eat it. Meat was taken by Gurus. Guru Nanak at Kurukshater. Don't tell me it was turned into kheer story. It was also hunted for. Guru Gobind Singh Ji cooked it at Anandpur and Bramans ate it too. Guru Ji said whoever eats meat gets 2 rupees. All the visiting Brahmans ate it too. Guru Gobind Singh Ji also cooked it at Madho Dass dera. Madho Dass was Banda Singh's name before meeting Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Naderh. There might be other times which I don't know.

WOW, I am still confused though, now I am complety against teh Meat industry, but is it ok to hunt for meat like the tenth Guru and his Sikhs did????????

So why did Guru Nanak Dev Ji eat meat infront of teh Bhramin, was it to show that u cant judge a person because he eats meat???

WHat abuot drinking milk, I heard that they keep impregnating the cow and taking away her children, and then after the cow is dont with milk they send her to the slaughter house???

Do u think i should eat egg, i meat the ones that done hatch???

Thanks so much

If you are not a meat-eater, then you cannot just start eating meat and be comfortable with it especially since your digestive system and probably your conscience might not geared up for it. So if you really want to eat meat then take it easy and go slow.

Of all the meats, I find that people are most addicted to beef and red meats than any other. People rarely get addicted to Chicken and other lean meats.
