A Letter From God

As you got up this morning,

I watched you and

hoped you would talk to me,

even if it was just a few words,

asking my opinion or thanking me for

something good that

happened in your life yesterday,

but I noticed you were to busy trying

to find the right outfit to put on to

wear to work.

So I waited. When you ran around

the house getting ready I knew there

would be a few minutes for you to stop

and say hello,

but you were too busy.

At one point you had to wait fifteen

minutes with nothing to do except

sit in a chair.

Then I saw you spring to your feet,

I thought you wanted to talk to me,

but you ran to the phone and

called a friend

to get the latest gossip.

I watched as you went to work

and I waited patiently all day long.

With all your activities I guess you were

too busy to say anything to me.

I noticed that before lunch you

looked around,

maybe you felt embarrassed

to talk to me,

that is why you didn't bow your head.

You glanced three or four tables over

and you noticed some of your friends

talking to me briefly before they ate,

but you didn't.

That's okay, there is still more time left,

and I have hope that you will

talk to me even yet.

You went home and it seems

as if you had lots of things to do.

After a few of them were done

you turned on the TV.

I don't know if I like TV or not,

just about anything goes on there and

you spend a lot of time each day

in front of it,

not thinking about anything-just

enjoying the show.

I waited patiently again as you

watched TV and ate your meal,

but again you didn't talk to me.

As you did your homework

I waited again,

as you did what you had to do.

At bedtime I guess you felt too tired.

After you said goodnight to your family

you plopped into bed and fell

asleep in no time.

That's okay, because you may

not realize that I am always there for you.

I've got patience more than you

will ever know.

I even want to teach you how to be

patient with others as well.

I love you so much that

I wait everyday for a nod,

a prayer,

a thought

or a thankful part of your heart.

It is hard to have a one-sided conversation.

Well, you are getting up again

and once again I will wait with nothing

but love for you

hoping that today

you will give me some time.

Have a nice day!

Your friend,

God

Yes it was nice, but I can see why natsilakh doesnt like it, the letter seems to show that God is waiting for us to pray to him or remember him. My belief is that God is unaffected by man, is we remember God it doesn't benefit HIM, it benefits us. And the second thing is that the writer takes the perspective that he is God. But it was nice.

AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE

about...who wroteIT ...what prespective they used...was it naive or not...

WE THINK THAT "SEEING IS BELIEVING" AND IF SOMETHING CAN WAIT AND IT DOESNT SEEM OF IMPORTANCE...WE THINK IT CAN WAIT..

INSTEAD OF REMEMBERING HIM IN "EVERY BREATH THAT WE TAKE AND EVERY STEP THAT WE MAKE" (Bhai Parminder Singh)....WE INSTEAD THINK OF WHICH "ASSIGNMNET IS DUE NEXT"...hence making our lives too isolated from the bigger picture...WHY NOT REMEMBER HIM..

HE WHO GAVE YOU THE ABILITY TO THINK ABOUT YOUR ASSIGNMNET...

HE WHO GAVE YOU THE ABILITY TO TAKE A BREATH AND BE ABLE TO TAKE A STEP...

HE WHO GAVE YOU THE ABILITY TO CHERISH YOUR WORLDLY "FRIENDS"...

BUT....NO SIR NO...WE THINK "SEEING IS BELIEVING" (i am no exception)

WELL... TELL ME ONE PARENT WHO DOES NOT DEARLY LOVE THEIR CHILD. SATGUR LOVES US SO MUCH THAT IF WE WERE TO ACT AS DIRECTED...ACCORDING TO "REHAT"...HE WOULD TAKE A THOUSAND STEPS TOWARDS US....AT ONLY ONE OF OUR STEPS TOWARDS HIM....

(bakhayan nai kitta jaa sakda...his love towards you.)...ITS ONLY THAT WE ARE BLIND NOT TO SEE HIS LOVE.

Ummm i actually agree with Untitled Singh, For the reason of, God doesnt wait for us to thank him, god is uneffected by these things. And when he said it benifits us to think and remeber god, but it doesnt benefit him..... VERYYY TRUE!.... and also, the post is nice so dont cirtisize..... :lol: }

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

umm....just to let you know; Khalsa04 did mention that it was from a Christian website...

and we all know that all religions have their own views. so for them, its ok.

and God does want us to remember him. Wouldn't your father, mother, sister(s), brother(s), friend(s) want you to remember them?

in Gurbaani, it is clearly written that we should take God as our mother, father, sister, brother, and friend.

thats just my opinion sangat ji

peace...
