Shin Kin is seriously rubbish.

If you want to learn a Sikh Martial Art then Gatka is for you.

If you want to get seriously fit take up boxing and wrestling. I have seen so called experts in Shin Kin get beaten up by boxers who know a bit of wrestling. The Shin Kin guy did not know what to do once the punches started to rain on him. Its all well and good practising blocks etc but when someone starts throwing punches at you like Manny Pacquiao then your Shin Kin blocks will not work. For close combat and floor work nothing is better than wrestling.

If you want to learn gatka for the fact it is sikh martial arts than do but as a self defence technique specially un armed combat try learning Israeli Krava Marga, one of the ultimate self defence techiniques, sadly we donot have in india . As Kurtas suggested wrestling is one of the ultimates forms of self defence
