They could have sought a stay on the courts decision but they did not. Who's fault is that ? If they can build those large houses then I am sure they could have filed a counter case to seek stay. Any advocate can file a counter case, it does not cost much.

Please stop propagandizing and outright lying. You obviously seems to have some kind of personality clash with Sikhs who fight and consider there rights. For your lies it is no good debating just for your sake of ego tumping. The uttranchal High court court refused to accept the stay order filed by the Sikhs and other lower class hindus. Why? Even the SC said that the staus quo of the farmers must be maintained and not be uprooted but NO they were.

Secondly

Please also read the Land Tenancy law. The zaminidari land was given to many peasants on the basis of their work and so were other lands.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the same land taken from sikhs been give to industrialists at a dirt cheap price.

thanks

Here we go. Where is the personality clash ? Yes I have a corrected the original replies and stated that there were non Sikhs involved as well. But as usual certain people get agitated as their propaganda has been exposed.

What stopped them taking the matter further ? Did the SC give an actual judgement ? If it did then the Uttaranchal sarkar has defied the judgement, go file a PIL against the Uttaranchal sarkar if you are so concerned.

I guess you know more than anyone about land rights. You better tell all those NRI in Punjab who complain about their restidar taking their land that they have lost their rights to the land due to the 12 year rule. I have had my eye on a nice orchard in Himachal for a while I guess I better shift there for 12 years and claim it. I suggest you look at actual reality of what happens in Punjab.

>>It wouldn't be surprising to see the same land taken from sikhs been give to industrialists at a dirt cheap price.

Once again propaganda. This happens all the time and is not limited to Sikh farmers. But hey all non Sikhs are not human so we must ignore their plight so we can continue our rants about everyone being anti Sikh. Its ok to ignore all those farmers around bangalore who had land forcibly bought by the government at low prices for it to be gifted to IT companies.

Kurtas ji,

Tell me one thing that when these SIKH farmers bought land they should have registered the land in their names in court and if yes then whose responsibility it is to enforce legal land ownership transfer from ESCORT to these SIKH (no hindu) farmers? Goverenment took their registration fees without cross-referencing the legality of the deals Isn't it the responsibilty of COURT of LAW to enforce legal deals without any duress?

On one side govt. take fees and transfer ownership to these innocent, hardworking farmers and later wack their asses for saying it is disputed land so they cannot own it.

Why govt. used so much hatered and media to show the beating and chasing of innocent SIKH farmers thru their own fields?

Why isn't any official punished for selling disputed land to these SIKH farmers?

Why was it realized NOW not back then when land was sold?

Why only in the month of JANUARY? and not in ANUGUST or later that these innocent people were chased out from there homes to live out in COLD and freezing nights?

Why wasn't due course of law followed to generate a NOTICE of purposed action on these farm land POSTED or DISTRIBUTED to media so that these people be aware of such eviction that it is bound to happen?

I can go on and on but I guess you are one of those people who do not care about honor and respect of SIKHs in INDIA and around the world so, it is useless to argue with you and I think WE SHOULD IGNORE YOU as much as we can.

May Waheguru ji bless you with SANGAT of GURMUKHs.

May Waheguru ji bless you with SANGAT of unbiased GURMUKHs.

You ever heard of Caveat emptor. Latin for 'let the buyer beware' ?

This is not limited to India, watch a few of those property programs about buying property overseas and you will understand it is up to the buyer to check the legality of everything. Part of checking the legality involves making sure the land is not subject to dispute/litigation.

I can easily go to turkish occupied cyprus and buy land and property. Only trouble is after the greek cypriots can take me to court. If you buy a house and fail to get a coal board report and later find there is a mine shaft in your garden, whos fault is that ?

This is not a Sikh issue so stop trying to politicise it as one. It is rather sad that you ignore all the others victims so you can make your unfounded allegations.

>>it is useless to argue with you and I think WE SHOULD IGNORE YOU as much as we can.

Ignore me it does not bother me in the slightest. Ignorance is a great thing. If we dont like the truth we can simply ignore it. Rather like the GOI and the 84 genocide victims who have been ignored for over 20years.

Prove this was a Sikh only issue and I will happily accept it. The fact that the SGPC fact finding committee themselves admitted there were non Sikh victims just dents your biased proclamations.

Veer ji, do not ignore the facts as it seems. Okay, you say non sikh were also affected then I add those to my comment but you so wrong about those verifying the legalities of land purchase in this particular issue as it was put up for sale by government and can you tell me if anything has been done against those officials who pocketed money and now these innocent farmers are suffering.

Why do people from punjab can not purchase land anywhere in india? on the other side of this the biharis/himachalis, haryanvis are allowed to purchase properties in punjab and get ration card proclaiming themselves as residents of Punjab?

Why Badal lied to these people? on what grounds should one trust SGPC?

You mentioned victims of 84 being ignored and YES they are being ignored by Badal controlled party. He was CM he could have done alot for these people but he was busy with other plans.

I do not have to prove anything to anyone as facts speaks for themselve and if someone just don't want to admit it then I can not do anything but to be sorry for that person.

Sorry, if I have offended you and raised your anger as it is not my intention to provoke hatered but to lay the simple facts and brotherhood.

From what I have read about this issue from various sources the land was sold by the original owner Mr PN Mehta at reduced price when he was given notice under the Land Ceiling Act 1972. I still say Caveat emptor applies just as it does everywhere else in the world.

Badal is a like a chameleon hence why he backtracks and tells lies. I totally agree about the 84 genocide victims. They were ignored by Badal and when the recent commission report was published he used it for his own political agenda. He did nothing for the victims when he was part of the NDA. All he and caca Sukhbir did was hoard as much wealth as they could.

As for Punjabis not being able to buy land anywhere in India that is another lie. Just over the last few years farmers from the Malwa area have been buying up farmland around Sirsa in Haryana without any problem. Just as a Punjabi cannot but land in Rajasthan or Himachal neither can a Haryanvi (or any outsider) buy land in those states. So it is not just applied to Punjabis. Also Punjabis can buy as much land as they want in Madhya Pradesh and land in and around Delhi.

I partially agree about non Punjabis and ration cards but you have to understand that most of those given ration cards are poor migrants and with these ration cards they can buy foodstuff at reduced prices. I would not want anyone to starve to death due to not having a ration card. A more important point is that they should get no voter ID card or have any right to vote in Punjabi elections. The Punjabi politicians are rather weak on this issue as these migrant votes are easier to buy up at election time.

Dont worry about my anger, I am not easily offended and it is very rare for me to get upset or angry. I do not like reading half truths or propaganda that uses religion but even that does not get me angry.

kurtas has some good points, this is not really a sikh issue. If there was hindu's also being kicked out, then this not just an attack on sikhs.

It's sad to see this happen, however, one should expect to move from from land that will eventually be taken back.

as for the video, that is something i would like too know...

Well... i understand the obvious anger from these clips, heck, it even made em a little angry inside, however Kurtas sis raise a point about the land being in "limbo" or "uncertain" from the beginning of the purchase. It should be noted to anyone buying a piece of property that might taken back at one point should be prepared to move out.

To make matter worse, since the courts could have been involved, yet and no legal action was taken, the results ended up being hard, yet not surprising. From waht kurtas presented, it sounds as if the land was not stable in the fist place.

What made me wonder about the video, is that why was their no video shots of the other ppl (hindu's) involved?

mind you.. that's just my opinion...

even if land is subject to litigation; even if you dont own the land; and even if you are on land illegally, under english law you still might have rights over the land

i suggest you read english land law books

We are not talking about adverse posession. These people were not squatters. They bought land that was subject to litigation.

If you are thinking about adverse possession then things are not as clear cut as you think they are. I suggest you take a look at the ruling of the European court of human rights in Strasbourg in November 2005. (Pye v Graham)

    • There is nothing wrong with starched pagg. The Guru is omniscient (all-knowing). You think he doesn't know our intentions? If somebody wears a starched pagg but still respects it as a crown then whats wrong with that? People think that starch automatically makes people lose their respect for their pagg but thats just false.  And dont make this a caste thing I’m Rajput Jatt sikh (not an ounce of Tarkhan or anything else) and we all starch our INDIAN style punjabi paggs (patiala shahi), but respect them as our crowns and our literal lives. A respected starch pagg is better by far than a freshly tied one which people just disrespect. And people forget that these are not ready made or pre-tied turbans. You still tie them initially but just of course not as frequently. What’s wrong with that?  When your relationship is that strong with the Guru then you know what he means. Speak to him directly, explain why and ask him if it’s okay. Btw I know people who dont starch their turbans (all punjabi/morni style btw) and they just wear it again the next day without tying it if they have toed it really nicely the day before. 😂 You cant really even tell who had tied it and who just wore it again without starch. At least we’re open about it. Bhul chuk maaf
    • Its called a “fifty” becuase when Singhs were fighting in the British army, they would recieve an 8 metre pagg, with a cour four base, because the base layer was half (50%) of the main turban, it’s called a fifty. The practise of tying a keski under your main one is now seen as pretty weird (except for a patka), but the small coloured strip inder the pagg is still used as a fashion statement since its pretty visually appealing. And so, people now just tie a small little “kung-fu strip” sort of thing under their pagg to imitate that effect.
    • Found how to do it. For anybody else wondering, heres how. No one even helped me btw. So much for Guru Ji’s lhalsa always ready to help (and having their Singhs’ backs smh). (Notes: Aim to do this on a hot summer’s day, and dedicate a full day to this, since you only have to do this once every 4 months at least (normally the turban will stay in shape until you wish to untie it and physically pull it open again). This helps it to dry faster, since you have to starch it, HALF DRY IT, pooni it, tie it and then wear it for around four hours for the rest of it to dry, all in the same day. It’s a one day process but it serves you for months). This works for both the UK/Kenyan style (starch is best for this style) as well as the normal Punjabi paghs (such as Patiala shahi, wattan wali and morni paghs). Not sure about dumallas though. Probably not . Pagg Starch: 1) Boil 6 cups of water in a saucepan on low heat (always low heat) 2) Seperately dissolve 4 tablespoons of maida (all purpose flower) with a little water until it is 100% smooth.  You could also use rice or corn starch. Add more water if it is not a smooth liquid 3) Once completely smooth, pour this mixture through a strainer (to make it even smoother) into the boiling water. 4) Now continuously stir it until it goes completely see through. Keep on stirring it on the low heat until it goes totally transparent (it can take a little while to cook, but the pagg will last you for months!) It will at become a thick paste first, but keep stirring until it becomes see through and thinner.    5) Once it’s transparent, pour the starch (again through a strainer) into a big enough, clean bucket to cool down. 6) Once cool, take a clean, dry turban and completely and mix it in with the starch for around 5 minutes. Make sure that it is all evenly and completely soaked and wet with the starch. (Most people use mal-mal material, but I use full voile and I have used Rubia too. They’re all fine. Maybe use Rubin for smaller turbans and mal mal for larger ones) 7) Leave it out in the sun to HALF DRY ONLY!!!!!!! (Don’t ever let your starched turban fully dry before you tie it. If you do, then you will have to spray/ sprinkle water on it which will weaken the starch and ruin the turban) ONLY HALF DRY THE TURBAN IN THE SUN!!! 😎 Once HALF DRY ONLY take the now semi damp turban, and fold/pooni and then tie it like normal (straight on your head, with no base layer such as a Keski or patka underneath). Leave it on your head for around 4 hours just to fully dry and it will be ready and set for months now. Like I said, do try to tie your dastar every day, but if you can’t or really don’t want to, I hope this helps! Like I said this works on both the traditional Punjabi/Indian style paggs, and the more recent UK/Kenyan style paggs. It does for my morni pagg, but the first larr slips up in to the pagg. This is normal dw. Wjkk, Wjkf
    • I guess easier ways of learning have taken precedence. There are so many Youtube channels and podcasts available that people are more ready to listen for knowledge at their own leisure. There are so many great kathas available online that take months to listen, so that people may not really get the time to come here and write.
    • *Bump The current conflict (w/ Iran getting involved) is being orchestrated by a 3rd party in my opinion. We all are going to blame the Jewish community (how they run the banks, how they are brutal and etc.) but they have a point in this conflict.  As soon as people start finding about the truth that's when the real movement will begin.
