veerji/panji......lately lots uv punjabi's are just sayin watever they wanna and are forgettin that this is gurbani too......it is not susrikaal....it is SAT SRI AKAL.....three different words and not just one mixed up word....and its not bhakru...it is WAHEGURU.......i do not wanna offend anyone....but please use the correct word rather then just sayin it really quick and just mixin it up.....and we as sikhs say fateh to each other: WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH.........bhul chuk muaf

Sat: True - ie unchanging (there are different "types" of truth..) If something changes that are no longer sat.

Sri: Respected - just like we say "Ji" out of respect

Akaal: A + kaal. A = opposite off (in english we use "un" eg: untidy opposite of tidy)... Kaal = destroy.

The full word means: Undestroyable/undestructible. THis refers to the attributes of God - We tend to use God's attributes to refer to God eg: The praiseworthy

So the full phrase: Sat Sri Akaal is True is the respected undestroyable one - or in english - True is the lord.
