I think its high time for a sikh channel!!... People with resources should come forward. Provide sangat all over the world, coverage of sikh kirtans and samagams, free from the clutches of the lkes of badal. 'm sure there are plenty of enterprising sikhs who can make this happen. Just need to put a bit of effort into it. Then we dont need etc or z tv to beam biased shows.

I totally agree with you brother. Even if they start a channel it will be more for financial reasons.... Just like you see newspapers with ads from all babas. I think the best would be if organisations working for sikh cause have a common news channel, free from biasing and not controlled by a single person. But its a shame that the most flourishing community cant come toghter to do something good for themselves....

Here I would like to mention that this very same etc channel was supposed to start a channel named "Khalsa TV" some time last year.

If it was supposed to be "badal tv" then thank god the channel has not come up ,other wise gadaars and RSS stooges like badal would have used it for political purposes like they did at Tarn Taran Sahib recently.

Although etc channel punjabi has done a very good job of relaying direct shabad kirtan from Shri Darbar Sahib,Amritsar but basically it is like other 'punjabi' channels.If you see other programs of etc channel punjabi besides shabad kirtan from Amritsar you will understand what I mean.

All channels are commercialised and their basic aim is profit and more viewers.

What we need is a non commercialised Sikh religious TV station not affiliated to some dal.

But as brother mentioned 'Even if they start a channel it will be more for financial reasons....' .

Sikh community is capable of such a station but it's a shame we still havent been able to.
