The Guru's were all 4.....one ith god because they were Gurmukhs incarnate.

Learned individuals, because they were all formally educated.

Above average Human beings because of the things they achieved, their physical, mental, and spiritual capacity.

They were also Sikhs....of the one true Lord (or Guru as they described him/her).....or Waheguru.......because without their ultimate teacher (which is literally Waheguru) they acknowledged that they would be nothing.

But do not make the mistake of thinking they were God or you would fail in Sikhi altogether.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji - "Those who call me God, will fall into the deep pit of hell''

Spot on Pakhandi Baba. :e:

Gu = darkness

Ru = light

GU + RU = the light that dispells all darkness

Wahe= wonderful

Wahe + Guru = Oh wonderful light that dispells all darkness

God has an extra desription.

In hindu thought Guru just means teacher/master, which doesnt have the same signifigance as Sikhs use the word

How does that work? Why couldn't it be interpreted as the darkness that kills all the light? I know we wouldn't want to see it that way, duh, but it's weird...

and the title of teacher/master is quite adequate I think.

How're we supposed to know which definition is right?? Aaaah!

study and youll feel the best translation. buy a bunch of books and when they all the Sikh scholars say the same thing then you can decide what is the best correct
