Yatra had approval of Takht chief: Sangat chief

Amritsar, July 25

National president of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat (RSS) Gurcharn Singh Gill said the controversial ‘Sarb Sanjhi Gurbani Yatra’ was organised to mark quadricentennial celebrations of the installation of Guru Granth Sahib in March, 2004 after getting a ‘green signal’ from Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti Jathedar of Akal Takht.

Mr Gill said his organisation was formed in November 1986, two years after Operation Bluestar to improve image of the Sikhs in other parts of the country. He said the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat had contributed a lot to serve the community since its formation and convinced the countrymen that the Sikhs had made supreme sacrifices for the sake of country.

Mr Gill, who is an Additional Advocate-General, Rajasthan (Jaipur), said he had provided legal service free cost detainees to the Sikh on the request of the SGPC and the Shiromani Akali Dal in the past. ‘I can submit documentary proof to substantiate my claims’, he said.

However, it came as great shock to the RSS when Akal Takht had issued ‘unilateral directive’ asking Sikh Sangat not to cooperate with the Yatra. Mr Gill claimed that Jathedar Vedanti had made a volte face on the yatra when he came back from foreign tour.

Replying to another question, Mr Gill, claimed that Jathedar Vedanti and Mr Badal were fully convinced that his organisation (RSS) had been serving the Sikh Panth and had never violated any ‘Maryada’ (Sikh code of conduct) during their meeting with Mr Arun Jaitley and Mr R.P. Singh in August last year. ‘Our cadre had expressed its resentment to the BJP leadership over the unilateral directive against the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat and urged them to convince its political partner (Shiromani Akali Dal — Badal) to get the unilateral directive withdrawn, on the basis of the great service to Sikhism. ‘The friendship should be on reciprocal basis, the RSS workers had told the BJP leadership’, he quipped.

He also confirmed several meetings with Jathedar Vedanti and Mr Badal. Mr Gill said Mr Badal himself had accepted in principle, that the directive issued by Akal Takht should be withdrawn. He confirmed the ‘secret meeting’ between Jathedar Vedanti and BJP leaders, including Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu and Mr R.P. Singh in the presence of Mr Badal and SGPC Chief, Avtar Singh at Amritsar.

If someone is a real Sikh they wouldnt start there own panth. Or distort Sikh history to fit the needs of hindu reformers.

yeah basically these characters "sacrificed" their religion for India. Accepted the hindutva concept and laid down before their RSS masters.

There is no difference between the RSS and the Akali Dal- badal, this is very very clear.

I personally feel that after 86 sarbat khalsa, raw or goi plaaned on uprooting sikhism from inside. thts when rss was created and they planted ppl in major sikh organisation and bought some prominenet figures to create divisions in panth. with the loss of great leaders like santji and bahi amrik singh, new anti panthic leaders came to fore. And numerous police cats. Even now no one knows how many of these moles are still in sikh organisations, calling themselves sikhs and dividing panth. Only guruji can bless us.

Rashtriya Sikh Sangat is related to Rashtiriya SwamSevak Sangh, which is absolutely against the Congress. At that time, Congress was in power. So Rashtriya Sikh Sangat is not a government product, but it is pro-RSS organisation.

Congress was trying to paint Sikhs as terrorists and many of its leaders are still trying to do so. Anti-India people are not fully aware of what is going inside political parties, so they keep beating about the bush. There are many points which should be discussed by Sikhs in India, but unfortunately, we have no forum to discuss. Indian Sikhs have to live and die in India. They know what Congress did, they suspect Hindutva organisation. Even then, there are Sikhs outside of Punjab (now in Punjab too), who are supporting Rashtriya Sikh Sangat. There are reasons for it. People like me believe that Indian Sikhs have three enemies. Congress, hardcore Hindutva people and those who are trying to show that Indian Sikhs are anti-Hindu, anti-India and pro-Khalistan. No wonder that Congress govt bans pro-RSS websites and does not care about pro-Khalistani websites. Khalistani websites are not listed in latest ban list. It suits Congress.

But, things are changing. Despite several efforts by such elements, people of India have realised that Guru Granth Sahib does not belong to Punjabis only. There is a Maharashtrian's Bani in it. It was wonderful to have Maharashtrian Hindus (followers of Bhagat Namdev Ji) present at Sri Darbar Sahib Complex on 4oo-years celebration of first installation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Rajastani Jaats now know that Dhanna Bhagat Ji was not 'Jatt Punjabi' but he was a Rajasthani Jaat. Sindhi Hindus already respect Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. So called low-caste people now know that there is Bani of Bhagat Kabir Ji, Bhagat Sain Ji and Bhagat Ravidas Ji. It was great when people of Ravidasi community took a procession to Bhagat Ravidas Ji's birth place from Punjab with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Brahmans now know that Sikhism does not hate Brahmans. In fact there is Bani of 15 Brahmans in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It is fact that there are Hindus of non-Punjabi origin, who come specially to Sri Amritsar Sahib Ji to pay their respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Message of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is being spread in India. Non-Sikhs are becoming Sikhs. There are Sikhs of Maratha origian. There are Sikhs of Vanjara origin. There are Sikhs of Asamease origin. There are Sikhs of Jaat (non-punjabi) origin.

But, there are people who do not like this. They are trying to create problems for political or other reasons. By the Grace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, Sikhi will spread in India.

There is huge need to have sikh schools (like taksal) where fully gurmat along with social education need to be given to young ppls.

Whether to believe it or not.. Congress sarkar of capt. amrinder is way better than BADAL and thats the fact whether you agree it or not. At the same time both are not pro-sikhi but Badal is big evil design who has millions of millions of illegal properties around the world (800 acre agriculture land of sacramento area is just one small example).. We should follow, "Meray dushman (BADAL) dah dushman (CAPTAIN) mera paka yaar ya"

If Sikhs in PUNJAB wants to keep badal and RSS away from KURSEY then they should (MAAN) join hand with captain to keep rss thugs away from punjab.

Whats good in punjab nowdays.. Punjabi maa boley sadday ghar teh nahey rahey, sikhi sadday ghar teh nahey rahi, sacchaey sadday ghar teh nahey rahey, nimarata sadday ghar teh nahey rahey.. To survive one need to think clever !
