Gaganjeet Singh, present badal dal MLA and son of Surjit Singh Barnala, former CM and present governor of Tamil Nadu was yesterday arrested by Chandigarh police for raping a house maid.

Some years back Gaganjeet Singh was involved in a pistol firing incident inside the Darbar Sahib complex whereas his father was responsible for the infamous operation black thunder during which the police was sent into the Darbar Sahib complex.

Just a few days back the son of the president of Punjab congress Shamsher Dullo was arrested by Himachal police on similar charges whereas Dullo himself is hobnobbing with anti sikh character bhaniarawala.

The above incidents show the morally corrupt and anti sikh nature of badal dal and congress leaders and their 'kakas'.

The people of Punjab should now get rid of congress.badal dal/BJP/RSS as soon as possible.

Barnala’s son held on rape charge

Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, August 12

Gaganjit Singh Barnala, the sitting Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) MLA from Dhuri and son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, was arrested tonight by the Chandigarh Police on a charge of rape.

Confirming his arrest to The Tribune, Chandigarh SSP Gaurav Yadav said Gaganjit Singh had been arrested under Section 376 of the IPC on the statement of the victim, who had been working in his house as a masseur for the past six to seven months. Gaganjit was arrested from his official residence — Number 57, MLA Flats, Sector 3 — after the case was registered against him in the Sector 3 police station.

The fortyfive-year-old victim belongs to West Bengal and is a divorcee. She was rushed to Government Hospital in Sector 16 in a critical state and had lost excessive blood. After being declared fit to give a statement by doctors, she told women constables that she had gone to the MLA hostel residence of Gaganjit in routine this morning, when he allegedly raped her. The victims is a resident of Naya Gaon on the outskirts of Chandigarh.

The SSP told The Tribune that the incident happened this afternoon. He said, “The wife of Gaganjit — Harpreet Kaur — has signed the consent form which was needed before operating the victim. She was brought to the hospital by the personal security officer of Gaganjit and was admitted to the hospital at 2.30 pm. Her medical examination has established a vaginal tear of 2.5 cm. We have also videographed the victim and recorded her statement. She has said that she was raped and also that she used the vest of Gaganjit to clean her blood after the incident took place. We have recovered the vest and sealed it, besides collecting the vaginal swabs for DNA analysis. We are also collecting other evidence and will produce Gaganjit in court tomorrow.”

Chandigarh DSP S.S. Randhawa, who was present at the General Hospital, Sector 16, when the victim was being videographed, said Gaganjit’s wife was in the other room when the alleged rape took place.

Gaganjit is married and has a son and a daughter. He had once led an armed brigade to take on militants who had entered the Golden Temple complex when his father was the Chief Minister of Punjab. Following the incident, he met with a serious accident. He then immigrated to Australia before returning to Punjab to join active politics.

In 2002, Gaganjit won the Dhuri seat on the SAD (B) ticket with a margin of 1,559 votes over Mr Iqbal of the SAD (Amritsar). He is now full time into politics, and is a member of the Vidhan Sabha’s Committee on Estimates and Committee on Questions and References.

So sad. Son's of Punjab Politician remind me of a cheap B grade hindi movie, where you have a corrupt politician and a son who rapes

I think you are talking about Kurukshetra. The movie was so powerful and real that it was banned for a while and released later on. Why? Because it showed the Indian police in bad light, as in, trying to save the rapist just because his dad was the chief minister. But then again "It happens only in India".

    • Definitely the Guru Sahibs would be a heavier Scriptures to handle. Dasam Granth is more towards Bir Rass, Guru Gobind Singh showed his Greatness (of course, they would never say this) by separating his own Baania.  And the BIGGEST test of all?? Do we try and read Dasam Granth, Understand n show respect like we do to SGGS? Or... Do we QUESTION it? Guru Gobind Singh Ji is testing us.
    • My wife will be going for an MRI scan next week but her Kara won’t physically come off.  Is there any way the mri scan can be done with the Kara still on?  The alternative is we will have to try to saw it off before the scan.
    • was researching this and came back to this thread. Also found an older thread:
    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
