Because most Nihangs are posers and wont do jack, just like they didnt do jack when over 300,000 of our sikh brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers were slaughtered during the 80's and 90's.

The 500th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Budhaji — the first Head Granthi of the Golden Temple — was marred when armed men belonging to Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) attacked leaders of SAD (Amritsar), in particular its president Mr Simranjit Singh Mann, with the police remaining a mute spectator here leaving many injured.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD-Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann was seriously injured after being attacked by SAD (Badal) and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) men at a function here today, police sources said.

According to the police, five to six others also

sustained injuries. They had been rushed to hospitals in Amritsar.

Mann who was attacked with swords by members of the SGPC task force, sustained head injuries and has been rushed to a hospital in Amritsar, an eyewitness said. His condition was described as serious.

Police sources said the clash took place inside the premises of the historic Gurdwara of Baba Buddha Sahib on the occasion of the 500th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Buddha at a village on the Amritsar-Pathankot National Highway.

The village is the birthplace of Baba Buddha, who was the first Head Granthi (priest) of the Harmandir Sahib, during the period of the fifth Sikh Guru: Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj.

According to police sources, the clash took place when Mann and his supporters were stopped by the SGPC task force from attending the birth anniversary function organised by the SAD (Badal) and the SGPC. The police disarmed many of the SAD (A) activists and allowed them free access to the main entry of the pandal, where Mr Om Parkash Chautala and Navjot Sidhu were invited. Mann and his supporters moved towards the platform on which were seated former Chief Minister Prakash Badal, former Haryana Chief Minister O P Chautala, BJP MP Navjot Sidhu, SGPC Chief Avtar Makkar and a number of other senior leaders.

A verbal duel ensued between the task force, SAD (Badal) and Mann. At this stage supporters swords were drawn and men advanced at one another. In the melee that followed Mann was hit by a sword on the head and he immediately collapsed in a pool of blood.

It is not for the first time that Mann has insisted on attending a function organised by the SGPC and the Badal Dal. An unsavoury situation had erupted when unsheathed swords were brandished during the quadricentennial celebrations of the foundation of Akal Takht at Gurdwara Manji Sahib inside the Golden Temple complex in June when the SGPC refused to give time to Mann to address the Sikh congregation after Badal had finished speaking.

Later in July, during a function to mark the 400th Martyrdom anniversary of Guru Arjan Dev Ji at Tarn Taran, Mann raised a voice for reviving the Anandpur Sahib draft of 1973 from the stage of SGPC in the presence of BJP national president Rajnath "Sinh" thereby putting

Badal in an embarrassing position.

Mann had earlier declared that under no circumstances would his party tolerate that the glorious history of Sikhs be tainted by the participation of Chautala and Sidhu in a religious function.

He had stated that the politics of these two political leaders was `inimical to Sikh and Punjabi interest``.

The SGPC should declare the functions organised by it as political functions organised by SAD if it does not want to allow others to join the religious functions.

Stating this to the Press here today after the unsavoury incident at Kathunangal, Mr Simranjit Singh Mann, president, SAD (A), said they were fighting to seek the right to speak on the religious functions organised by the SGPC. He said the SGPC was not the personal property of any political leader or party. He said history repeats itself, and this was proved by today’s incident, which showed that the second Gurdwara Sudhar Lehar had started.

Elsewhere in Punjab, effigies of Parkash Badal, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), and Avtar Makkar, president of the SGPC, were burnt at the traffic light chowk, near main bus stand, here.

I am still wondering y ppl support Badal....

It is actually not the people who support badal but it is his party men who gather goondas and unemployed youth using various methods including coercion.

During the rally at Chandigarh few days back sukhbir badal ordered his partymen to bring atleast "50' buses of people each by hook or by crook.Even badal dal leaders were criticising this order and were saying that even 20 buses by each party leader is too much.

When there is so much unemployment problem in Punjab for which badal has deliberately not done anything,to bring a crowd of 1 lakh or so "daily wagers" is no big deal for a corrupt person like badal who has amassed a lot of wealth in the past and is now eating SGPC funds running in lakhs.It is even said badal got people from Rajasthan and Haryana to show his strength at the Chandigarh rally recently.

People even believe badal did this rally to put pressure on the govt as he is facing some serious charges of corruption himself .During the rally few leaders were allowed to speak and even those who spoke attacked Punjab CM and the PM and said nothing for the betterment of Punjab.

Each time there is an attack on Sardar Mann and his party workers it has been seen it is the district jathedars of badal dal who are instrumental in gathering the crowds and daily wagers.If one has a close look at who these party workers are one can see most of them have nothing to do with Sikhi and are not even Sikhs.It is only the leaders who are in garb of Sikhs.

This time at Kathunangal it was Sucha Singh Langah,Boney Ajnala(son of Akali MP Rattan Singh Ajnala),Bikramjit Singh Majithia,Rajinder Singh Mehta,Virsa Singh Valtoha.

Rajinder Singh Mehta and Virsa Singh Valtoha were once considered close to Sant Bhindranwale but when Sant ji became shaheed they showed their true colors when badal made them chairmen of various boards.Whereas Sant ji had openly said they he was not fighting to get some "waziri".

All these leaders in their over enthusiam to get badal dal assembly tickets and to make badal happy have gone to the extent of spilling blood of Sikhs .

But not all is well even within badal dal itself .The fact is that there are atleast 4-4 people or more competing to get single assembly tickets.If one of them gets it and others dont then it can be imagined what will happen and may be they will at each other's throats.

Not only this the Tohra faction has warned badal as they feel he has left the panthic agenda.The huge turnout at a recent rally by Tohra faction of badal dal at Sirhind is a proof of this :

Another reason why some Sikhs still think badal is panthic is because of the negative media campaign against Sardar Mann,Bhai Bittu by badal dal .The so called Punjab's voice 'Ajit' newspaper is openly siding with badal dal.Today's edition shows a pic of Sardar Mann and his party workers going to the badal dal venue at Kathunangal and below it is written Mann instigating workers to attack badal daliyas at the behest of Congress.

Sardar Mann is always projected as a congress agent whereas he has spoken umpteen times against congress.

badal and his back lickers did this to Sant Bhindranwale and now they are doing this same to Sardar Mann,Bhai Bittu and SAD(Amritsar).

Now it can be well imagined what impression an illitrate reader in the village will think after seeing the pic.

Badal has amassed too much wealth by corrupt means and he will use all this before and during the elections to make his candiates win by hook or by crook even if he has to indulge in distributing money,liquor,nashay etc or even if he has to use muscle power and indulge in anti Sikh activities he will do all this to win the elections.

As to how much he is successful in this only time will tell.Whether he's able to even see the elections, only time will tell.

This BJP dog is so desperate in winning the elections that recently he called his party workers to even sell their wive's jewellery to make his party win the elections.

Even if we keep on venting our anger in these online forums it's of little use till the common person in Punjab's village is shown the real face of badal dal and how badal and his stooges are making them fools.

Hope the Sikhs who still support badal realise their folly before it's too late.

Badal daliyas will again try to attack panthic leaders like Sardar Mann.Bhai Bittu and others.

Finish the enemy before it attacks once again.

ever thought of kind of speeches he make? not anything you can compare to bhindranwale or wannabe like that. i support no political parties sorry. not even badal dal and all that. its all crap he speaks, leaving many hurt about sikhism, unecessary criticism to other religions and what not. if you are so excited about sikhism, dont go behind politics only. if you arnt a saint what's the need to be a soldier. you cant see akal takht from harimandir sahib, but u can see harimandir sahib from akal takht inside.
