i dont agree with this calendar for all these years wev been using a lunar calendar the canadian purewal made this to suit canadians who celebrate everyting on sundays (when their free)

guru gobind singh ji says

bhadrav sudi ashtami rav vara teer saddrav granth sudara (bhadron month 8th day (of light half) sunday on the banks of sutlej (i) complied (this) granth)

in purantan calendar there are 14 sudi (light half) days and 14 wadi (dark half days) which adds to 28 lunar days in a lunar month there are about 29 days or 30 days

sudi starts from new moon (amavas) and wadi from full moon (puranmashi)

guru gobind singh jis prakash devas took place on the 7 sudi of Poh (but hes it fixed to 5 january)

we needed our own calendar but we could have kept the lunar calendar (which is more fascinating) and renamed it nanakshahi calendar

rajkarega khalsa should stick to his lunar calender ok

what you mean everythin is on sunday hahaha

that is just jokez.. how come in lunar calender dates keep changing?

in karam singh historians book katik kai vasaik? every sakhi say that guru nanak sahib was born in vaisakh and the only "sakhi" which says that guru nanak sahib was born in katik and the sakhi is bala vallee sakhi... which of course is very much questionable... no person ever named bala period..

if we go according tolunar calender dates such as now will be 2 months from now

Waheguroo jee ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo jee kee Fateh!

Sticking with a lunar calendar is a bit weird though... think about it. One year you celebrate Vaisakhi in the winter, one year it would be in the summer... it would never stay the same! This is because the Lunar calendar is NOT the same one that our planet follows.

At the time, it was used for convenience... because that is what the hindus used at the time. But now, wouldn't you rather celebrate a spring event 100years from now in the spring?
