Anti - Hindu

our great ancestors were formely Hindus ....

Sikhs who converted from jat tribes like Cheema, Chatha and so on..who lived in peripheral regions weren't really hindu. Infact they followed no particular religion before converting into Sikhism, probably some were buddhists or animists.

And if you follow Sikh politics closely, it is these types who lived in and around Attock and present day North Western Pakistan who have the most trouble with the hindus and it is also them who display maximum contempt for them.

Infact if you look into history, you will find that the ancestors of the Jats & most of em Rajputs, the hephthalites or what is called in Sanskrit (himtaali) were always in the periphery of hinduism because they were bought into the fold of hinduism too late and even then they remained on the periphery of the religion because most of them were just given 'honorary kshatriya' status and were not treated equal to the brahmins . They were not allowed to take part in rituals and neither did they understand the meaning because the cunning brahmin kept it knowingly complex so as to maintain his hold over the hindu society. But still at this stage there was some movement between the castes and there were cases of brahmins intermarrying with other communities and their offspring considered of equal status.

But then when Islam arrived in the sub-continent, then the mass-murders and qatl-e-aams just made caste system more rigid because everybody got insecure and trusted only their own flock.

Its' because most North Indian Hindus deserve nothing but to be treated that way, no matter how much you try to patch things up, they always show their egotistical ways, saying that we are bahmans and no one is better than us. I used to have a bahman friend in highskewl he was kewl to a certain extent but always made fun of people that didn't meet his standards, and once he crossed the limits, and if you roll with me, there is one commandment you must follow:

"THALL SHALL NOT BE A BAHMAN.."

well he choose to follow that, ant bats were flying, and fists were connecting to skin. :e:

Why are you so pi$$ed-off with brahmins ?? It is not like they killed anyone or chopped off anyone's head !

At the maximum they have a superiority complex and are exclusive ... but that's about it. Unless they directly interfere in anyone's lives I don't understand why people need to have their knickers in a knot over them. Compare this to the Islamists whose only comeback is to chop off the head of anyone who disagrees with them.

I will take the hindus over the Islamists anyday, because with the latter I would have to turn myself into a butcher to get back at them.

Yes there is a lot of bigotry amongst some Sikhs and it is sad and even disgusting given that our religion is opposed to bigotry when Sikhs can openly express such generalised hatred of entire groups of people. It is especially sad and pathetic because Sikhs are the victims of much stereotyping and hatred and racism too and so to act in a similar manner is disgraceful. But the way things are now, I think Sikhs in Britain are amongst the most racist and bigoted people in the country.

A Sultan arrived from Arabia in around 1000 AD after the rise of Islam at Mumbai India and entered the Somnath Mandir and smashed the Shiva idol in half and jewels and diamonds came out of it.

Then the Mughals ruled India some emperors were tolerant like Akbar who formed a new religion (which died out straight after) called Din Ilahi a mixture of Islam and Hinduism but the most fanatic one is Aurangzeb who even killed Sufi Shiah Muslims

But Islam in India is still greatly influenced by Hinduism in Saudia Arabia thers no Pirs or Babas and no Smadhs

Same for Sikhs because Punjab is 30% Hindu

Then came Guru Nanak a Guru for Hindus and Pir for Muslims who refused the Brahmin thread ceremony and spoke out against idol worship and against their racist caste system

Then the British arrived and even they had the common sense to say that what are these idols and started opening churches

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
