Sat Sri Akal Sangat Ji

Whats the best thing to do with your hair not when you cut it i mean the hair left on your kanga, for years my family have put in the river but i was told by a friend that it should be burnt? I know people just throw it in the bin along with their breakfast bacon, egg, sausages etc but thats disgraceful. Any suggestions?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fathe,

I asked this question to a CK Singh recently and was advised that kes that come out should be burned, if possible with a bit of ghee.

Ardass should be done before thanking maharaj for blessing you with kes and that u are returning it back to him,

Then burn the kes whilst reciting Sohila sahib if at night or chaupey sahib in the day and then, after perhaps do an ardass asking for forgiveness if any mistakes were made.

This is was I was advised as a respectful funeral of ur kes, forgive me if I i've been mistaken on how to do this.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fathe,

Throw it in the bin.

A bit stupid to burn what is just a bit of dead keratin. What next a full scale ritual to dispose of nails and excrement ?

To throw it away jus shows how little respect we have for kesh. Mite aswel cut it ourselves.

Should be burnt or if cant then just put in river.

if you dont have time, store it in a bag and burn when you do. If you dont respect kesh, then you dont respect Guru Ji enough. Bhai Taru Singh gave his SCALP for his kesh.

It might be dead to you, but its still the Kesh Maharaj left us. Its the same as just throwing a saroop away if its worn out. If its worn out, ang are ripped, then that in some peoples mentality is jus a page, and then if multiple pages are missing then maharaj is a book then we can throw away because we dont have the time to follow simple respectful practices.

People might say thats goin over the top, but so what, end of the day we still must respect kesh whether its attached to our head or not.

Guru Ji Took of his shoes to walk over the battlefield to avoid steping on kesh.

Shows how much respect we have if we have to say we dont have time for sikhi.

Stop making up stories. What next ? Shall we carefully preserve the squamous Stratum Corneum layer of Epidemris ? Its all dead keratin so might as well have a little corneum burning session.

Also next time you miss the Shaheed prefix from Shaheed Bhai Taru Singh Ji's name I will report you to admin.
