i believe that sikhism was a way of life just like the rastafari,

and then guru gobind started the Sikh "religion"

The RELIGION was started by the british, a way to explain what another believe of god (other then what they think is theres, foolishly not knowing god is only the same with a different name).

Guru Gobind Singh created the Khalsa, they purest of the pure a strict way of life.

What would you describe a Gursikh as???

and is Sikhism a religion because i heard Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji said something like this "there is no Muslim or Hindu" so what about Sikh???

Sikh comes from the word Sikhsha (Sanskrit word) a learner or disciple Guru Nanak Dev Ji chose this word for his students who wanted to discover the Satya (truth) about God Life Matter Universe etc

Guru Gobind Singh Ji finalised it by forming the Khalsa (the pure) Charna Amrit (Feet Baptism) was given to Sikhs upto the 9th Guru Guru Gobind Singh Ji changed it Khanda Da Amrit (Baptism of double edged sword) because he wanted the Universal Guru Granth Sahib Ji to be the Guru for Sikhs after him

he said all source of Gyaan (knowledge) will now only come from Guru Granth Sahib Ji and no more human Gurus

The Rehat Maryada (Code of Conduct) was given not as a burden but to fight all challenges by Kal Yug (King of Evil) This Maryada was so pious it is still envied by the Manmukhs (self willed people) and people have made short cuts to escape from it. In this Maryada of Kalgeedhar Patshah even swearing or bad mouthing is not allowed. And the Nitnem (daily prayers) were given as bridge to connect with God.

A Sikh in the simplest form is the follower of ten Gurus, and worshipper of Guru Granth Sahib Sache Patshah. A Sikh will do everything the GURU has said without questioning it, and follow the principles Kalgidhar Patshah has layed down for us.

My definition of a Sikh:

Most people would say, "Your not a Sikh until you have taken Amrit". In some ways i agree but at the same time there are so many Amritdharri's out there but they dont have that love, that devotion, that faith like Gursikhs do. I agree that giving your head to Satguru Ji's is a huge step but then if you dont maintain that love within your self; who are you trying to kid?

A true Sikh loves his Guru.

A true Sikh sees' all Ten Masters within Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

A true Sikh never abandones Satguru Ji at Amritveylaa.

A true Sikh never forget's the Creator of all Creations.

A true Sikh continues to say Vaheguru's Name with every breath and morsel of Food.

A true Sikh will rise in the early portion of the morning, take bath and recite his Name.

A true Sikh will give his head to Guru Saahib such as did the five punj piyaarey.

A true Sikh will always remain in his home of Saach Kaand.

A true Sikh will learn Gurbani Kirtan.

A true Sikh will love Guru Saahib more than anyone in the whole world.
