Why only olive oil, desi oils like 'Mustard oil' , 'Groundnut oil' , and 'Corn oil' are equally rich in Omega 3.

The trick is to keep changing the oil, and not to stick to only one type of oil or dalda.

I speak from personal experience. I have used olive oil exclusively for almost an year, it cannot be used for deep frying generally. Only extra virgin olive oil (first crush of olive) can be used for deep frying, that is too expensive though. Normal olive oil is not suitable for the Indian way of frying.

The solution to gain omega 3 fatty acids is to use as many different types of oil as possible. Mustard oil, Groundnut oil, Corn oil are the other oils that have Omega 3. Infact Mustard oil is almost equal to Olive oil in Omega 3 but not suitable for western palette and thus is not promoted in west.

Another key is to never reuse oil for cooking. That is the most hazardous for health and is commonly practiced by Indians.
