Some Of My Poems

wow im happy you all like them, but my poetry is honestly a gift from waheguruji so thank god not me pray.gif heres another old one...il write some new ones soon :umm:

Oblivious I am, to this heavenly presence. Yet its love for me is always so immense. Waheguru-ji is watching over me. Heavenly white and pure, seeing all within me. Guiding me night and day. Leading me the right way. Yet why do I always forget to listen to the wisdom you speak and say?

Blinded by the bright lights of this world, Iv forgotten you. Absorbed in the falseness of sin, I slowly move further astray. Yet unsatisfied I remain, nothing appeases the hunger. So I slump deeper and deeper in sin to quench the unquenchable hunger.

You watch all I do, with a tear down your face. Unable to stop me, from losing the ultimate race. Yet you never leave me, your love and hope still remain. You always watch over me, until the day we meet again.

d_oh.gif i luv'd tht lineeee 2 sikkk

we'll b buyin ur poetry from Waterstones 1 day lol William Singhspeare :umm:

ok ive just written another one, remember its been a while since i wrote one...i hope you all like this (sorry if it scares anyone :umm: )

Naam and Maya

Like the bee drawn to the honey and the moth drawn to the flame. The gurmukh soul is drawn to and searching for the one true name. But like the moth, our souls are captivated and burnt by Mayas flame. Without the true name, like the bee, our soul searches for the honey of truth in vain.

Without naam, we are alone, weak and defenceless. Then the great temptress castes her sensuous blanket over our senses. Blind, deaf and unable to perceive the great lord. Maya watches as her sticky web wraps around and binds us.

Then her venomous fangs, inject her poison, keeping our soul in her clasp. Now comatose, unable to move, she feeds on her victim at last. Yet unaware of the danger, the soul continues to sin. And the spider gorges and feeds on each and every sin.

Finally the soul emerges from its comatose shell. And sees the temptress whom has doomed this soul to hell.

heres another poem i wrote today about amritvela :umm: (il keep posting ones i write in this thread for everyone unless someone objects)

Amritvela (2am-4am)

Alone, asleep under the night sky. The owls hoot, the wind whistles, the bright stars shine. This celestial moonlit night, such a spectacle, such a sight.

At such a divine hour, the true sikh should awaken. And meditate on the source of life and creation, the one lord. Waheguru.

Once you rise, first cleanse thy physical body, the home and shelter of salvation. Waheguru. Then cleanse thy spiritual body, and bathe in the lords name.

Like dirt washed from the towel, in the same way thousands of sins are washed away. Oh siblings of destiny, praise the lord in this way, night and day. Waheguru

This Shabad is by Guru Raam Daas Ji in Raag Gauree on Pannaa 305

heres one i wrote today, i really like it pray.gif

The Worlds Ocean

Mountainous waves, treacherous rapids. Deep cavernous caves, sharks and fishes. The ocean of the world, filled with dangerous terrain all must navigate and explore.

Crashing and destroying, this powerful force felt by all. Unable to swim, the current pulling and killing the sinful mortal. Biting and feasting, the oceans devils devour the corpse to the bones and the skull.

Searching and fighting for gold and jewels, sinful pirates scour the earth. Unaware that the true treasure lies deep within our soul, from birth. Yet the souls cure, this heavenly treasure, only realised by the truthful and the pure.

A raging storm, thunder and lightning. A test from the lord, chilling and frightening. O mortal, only on the lords boat, will salvation from this whirlpool of death, be yours.

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
