Some Of My Poems

Recommended Posts

heres one i wrote today, i really like it pray.gif

The Worlds Ocean

Mountainous waves, treacherous rapids. Deep cavernous caves, sharks and fishes. The ocean of the world, filled with dangerous terrain all must navigate and explore.

Crashing and destroying, this powerful force felt by all. Unable to swim, the current pulling and killing the sinful mortal. Biting and feasting, the oceans devils devour the corpse to the bones and the skull.

Searching and fighting for gold and jewels, sinful pirates scour the earth. Unaware that the true treasure lies deep within our soul, from birth. Yet the souls cure, this heavenly treasure, only realised by the truthful and the pure.

A raging storm, thunder and lightning. A test from the lord, chilling and frightening. O mortal, only on the lords boat, will salvation from this whirlpool of death, be yours.

The Soul bride

Birds are chirping as butterflies are fluttering. The sun shining as the wedding bells are chiming. That day has finally come! The soul bride in love, has found the one true groom. Waheguru.

Countless lifetimes apart. The soul soaring like a lost dove through skies and the heavens for its other half. Separated, incomplete. Praying night and day until they day the two lovers merge and meet.

But only the blessed soul is chosen by the master. Millions upon millions are unworthy and die, cold and alone in disaster. What a world thou hast created. A soul without gods love, will be killed and cremated then reborn into this hell. So Pray night and day, and sing his praises, till the day we emerge from the body our soul bride dwells.

In sikhi, the “soul bride” refers to all of our souls, male and female. We are all deemed the soul bride, and our one god is our husband and master. Here are just 3 of many quotes from Guruji using the term soul bride

Haven't you heard the call from beyond, O beautiful soul-bride?

Forgive me for anything wrong that I have written.

aww you dont like that one, thing is i try to make them all different, and the more poems i write, the harder that is. anyways heres one i wrote today. its not my best but i hope all the sangat like it.

Maya's battle

Oh why great lord do u test your poor worthless slave. Daily, hourly, you send your great temptress to conquer my mind. The battle drum beats deep within, but defenceless this manmukh soul can’t fight, and dies.

Like a drunk wild beast, I lose control. From side to side I crash and sway, as these 5 primal urges consume my soul.

Kaam (Lust). Rich and poor, fat and the thin. This sin burning and grinding all souls to dust. Oh great god save me from this vice. Take my arm and feed me the simple, satisfying rice of your naam.

Anger (krodh). In an instant, this beast unleashed darkens the purest of gurmukhs. All saintliness is lost, and only black, dark actions are done. From these evil actions, the soul is continuously reborn.

Ego (ahankar). The foolish mortal proudly rich and beautiful, believing all to be true. Unaware that within, the egotistical soul is deformed and black, like glue the sinful actions of the past sticking to her face, hands and wrists.

Attachment (moh). Wasted is the love one has for people and materialistic possessions. Blessed is the gurmukh whom sees the lord in all of his creation, for he is detached and achieved true salvation.

Greed (lobh). The 5th vice. Like mice the soul yearns for more and more cheese to quench its hunger. Unaware that the mouse trap is set, and its blades of death crash down like thunder.

You watch each and every action, and yet still I continue to sin. Only with the gurus grace, can one learn to control the wild beast within.

for now il just keep posting them here, another short one..

The path of sikhi

Like the blade of the sharpest sword, this torturous path followed only by the pure. Cleansing the soul of sin, eternal contentment and bliss found within.

For one who walks the gurus path, shall find the ultimate gift, the ultimate prize…Waheguru. Their spiritual eyes will open. Through devotion, there soul, but one raindrop, will merge with the ocean of the lord.

Like a butterfly in a field of roses, a bright star in the cold nights dark blanket. The gursikh exemplifying god’s natural beauty and creation. His eyes sparkling with gods sight, each hair more precious than gold. His face radiant and bright, inspiring all, young and old.

Fearless yet compassionate. Brave yet also shy. Kind and humble, wondrous virtues all gursikhs possess inside. Like a pride of lions, these warrior saints live, fight and die with gods love, for ALL of mankind.

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
