To add to the growth of SikhSangat.com we've setup a chat room for members. Rooms will be setup based around the forums on SikhSangat, where users can discuss topics related to that room, whether its general talk or gurbani vichaar, or politics, or discuss current events. We will try to expand on the chat module. This chat will be FULLY moderated and there will be 0 tolerance for any non-sense talk, this not only includes profanity, but indirect gestures or taunts. This feature will be available for a short period of time per day as we don't want it to take away from discussing on the forum. You can use your forum login IDs.

So drop by and say fateh! :umm:

Anyone discussing topics that are banned on the forum (keski, raagmala, etc.) in the chat will be banned from the chat , no questions asked, we can check the log of what was said and will check after everytime the chat goes up.

People can also report screenshots under this thread.

No offence intended but, why are all the important topics forbidden. Such as...alcohol use, music, culture, etc...This is meant to be a Sikh Discussion site right? where sikhs can openly discuss with their brothers and sisters about issues they are having right?...well 99% of the topics i have started have been banned because they have been to do with issues in sikhi which involve stuff like drinking, meat eating, music etc. To me this site seems well one sided...like it is only meant for people 100% into sikhi and nothing else.

I just wanted to know why the site is like this...rather than just getting banned and my topics from being deleted...if thats how you treat you own people, thats completely "anti sikhi".

Sardar Dholi.. we are talking about topics that are not allowed to be discussed by Akal Takht and we simply following their orders (which every sikh should). Music and culture doesn't come under "Not allowed" category. If our visitors are looking for encouragement in drinking alcohol, eating meat then they are looking at the wrong place. SikhSangat doesn't allow such type of encouragement of living such lifestyle.

Regarding cultural issues as of Music.. there is no rule nor any restriction of discussing music in our forums but those type of topics have to be in proper category like "News | Fun" or Multimedia section etc..
