Organizing Keertan Programs ...

Just had some random thoughts in my head and wondering what everyone else thinks about them..

When we organize keertan programs at gurdwara saahib.. we usually pick a gurdwara for reasons such as not far but near, everyone goes to it, max sangat etx...

I personally think we should strive to organize events/keertans at gurdwaras that are not getting as much sangat.... ive seen MANY times when we organize such events at gurdwara saahibs that alrdy have the cash flowing in, sangat coming in everyday .. the committee doesnt even care and takes it for granted that the youth or organizations are holding these keertans/events at the gurdwara for the sangat...

where as if we go away from the city .. not far maybe half hour away from the rush, we have gurdwaras that are involved more directly with the youth since they are smaller and when you tell them we wish to hold a keertan/event here .. they are soo active and even help in ALL means !

I think we should try to hit up programs at gurdwara saahibs that WANT us to do programs there.. there is sangat everywhere, and some of these outside gurdwaras get left out .. along with the sangat that go there..

An example in Toronto area is we always hear programs at Dixie Gurughar mainly and then theres malton/rexdale... hardly we would see anything in the newspapers/on the tv/radio about programs at other gurdwarai .. i remember bak in the day my grandma use to tell me it was all about gurdwara saahib down in downtown toronto at old weston rd gurughar.. ALL variety of programs/smaagams/raensbayees use to be held there.. sangat use to be gng there everyday ... and today its one of the quietest gurdwaras.. even this other one we use to goto on Pape ave..

Im sure there are gurdwaras in the UK or BC or other places that have encountered this shortage of sangat or the ones that are in NEED of sangat ..

Haven't been to the Gurudwara at Old Weston in a LONG time!!!

It would be great to have more kirtans held at these Gurudwaras :wub:
