Bit Of A Problem

Well my parents ave a chip shop (they not Amritdhaari) and they do an indian take away and kebabs and all sorts there. Which means a wide variety of meat is there lol. My mum asked me the other day if i have Nitnem, Sukhmani Sahib and any other spare Gurbani on CDS. I told her i have and asked her why she needed them. She told me that they are going to start playing Gurbani in the shop. I told her that i cant do that as Gurbani should not be played near the presence of meat, alcohal (my dad has bottles there and gets smashed lol) and other nasha. My mum then just went mad and started houtin at me saying "OH THATS WHAT YOU THINK. WHO MADE YOU SO BLOODY IMPORTANT" and stuff like that lol. Izit right for me to have done that or would it have been ok for them to play Gurbani there?

its good what you done, its 'typical punjabis' because when you stand up to them and say its wrong, they say stuff like " emhee vadda gyanee ayaa ' haha or something like that. theyre not educated in sikhi like you are so theyre going to beleieve what they know.

but dont give in and dont let them play baani where such manmat stuff like alcohol , meat etc is present

take this as a hukam from guru ji... may be this is what guru ji wants. surely guru ji will help your parents to understand what you want to say at this time. sooner or later they will understand.

i remember my daddy ji used to drink and i have seen some picture where he used to keep amrit from bangla sahib (in new delhi) gurughar in sharaab di bottle. ofcourse this is wrong, but later on with guru ji's wish, my parents are both amritdhari and sharaab is no way near now.

Tell your parents - you wouldnt take alcohol and meat into Guru's House (Gurdwara) so why take our Guru into a place like that!

how about nihang singhs, when they do jhatka and drink bhang...they have the bani reciting there with them.... havent seen any one stopping them. is it coz they all have big swords in their hands or they are special and can do this manmatt?
