Purchase a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable and connect one end to your cassette player and the other end to the microphone port on the computer. Then download Audacity. Press play on the cassette player and press record on the software.

BTW. I have found that cables with gold tips give better clarity rather than silver tips. I connected my iPod to my car with this 3.5mm jack and have found a big difference with the type of tips.

buy this device, it connects you tape deck to your computer. i've got it is quite good. there are also tape decks you can buy which have USB ports at the back which connect to your computers
