Protest Amitabh Bachchan's Role In 1984 Riots

Recommended Posts

They were all pals of Rajiv Gandhi aka Mr. Big Tree shaking the ground. And as it was anticipated that Rajiv Gandhi would take over all wanted to score brownie points with him. And they knew Rajiv Gandhi was looking for revenge.

Exactly ! Read what you have written.

Raju Ji,

Fateh

His Mom lived in Mumbai in Prateeksha.

From where is she identified as a Sikh? Her surname is Bachchan and she sported bob cut hair. Her sons are not Sikhs. What are you talking about?

And for God's sake today one may 'lol' on my request. But please do remember because of these people's role in the riots many Sikhs 'col' (cried out loudly).

My request is please do not get infatuated or enamoured by his 'reel' life roles. He was just acting.

He's proved he is is very good actor but a very poor human being.

Guru Rakha

Even Amitabh could have been targeted by unruly mobs roaming the streets. His parents lived in Delhi and everyone knew his mother was Sikh.

1984 Anti-Sikh Riots took place in India after the assassination of Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984. India's Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by two of her Sikh guards acting in the aftermath of Operation Bluestar.

Over the next four days nearly 3000 Sikhs were massacred in systematic riots planned and led by Congress activists and sympathizers. The then Congress government was widely criticized for doing very little at the time, if not acting as a conspirator, especially since voting lists were used to identify Sikh families. The then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, son of Indira Gandhi allegedly made a statement "When a big tree falls, the earth is bound to shake" on the Sikh carnage. His widow, Sonia Gandhi and current President of the Congress Party, officially apologized in 1998 for the events of November, 1984. The most affected regions were neighborhoods in Delhi.

The Devil Of evil on people

It is alleged that the anti-Sikh violence were conducted at the behest of the Congress party who actually instigated masses. Many ordinary Indians of different religious dispositions made significant efforts to hide and help Sikh families as outlined in affidavits of Sikh victims and have been active in seeking appropriate justice

On November 1, 1984, a huge mob from the suburbs of Delhi descended on various localities where the Sikh were mainly concentrated. They carried iron rods, knives, clubs, and combustible material, including kerosene. They had voters' lists of houses and business establishments belonging to the Sikhs. The mobsters swarmed into Sikh homes. Sikh men, women and children were brutally killed. Their shops and houses were ransacked and burned. The mobsters stopped buses and trains, in and out of Delhi, pulling out Sikh passengers to be lynched or doused with kerosene and burnt.

The Police played a very dubious role and so as to give the rioters a clear filed the Police disarmed Sikhs in various localities.

Riot victim

Many Commission have been appointed but the perpetrators have somehow evaded being convicted. Congress has protected them and appointed them to Office in the Government.

One of the individuals who has been able to evader the law is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan who was at that time very close to the Gandhi family.

Amitabh Bachchan or Big B is alleged to have aided and abetted the 1984 rioters.

Amitabh's Bachchans role in the 1984 riots:

Babu Singh Dukhia, a resident of Tirlok Puri in Delhi, claimed there were eyewitnesses that saw Amitabh Bachchan inciting mobs to avenge the death of Indira Gandhi. The documentary says Amitabh Bachchan was clearly involved in inciting mobs and was heard saying "khoon ka badla khoon" at the funeral of late Indira Gandhi.

Amitabh Bachchan who is a Bollywood (India's Hollywood) Star is alleged to have had a role in aiding and abetting the 1984 riots.

In 1984 Amitabh Bachchan was very close to the Gandhi family as Gandhi and Bachchan's parents were very close to the Gandhi family for decades. Amitabh Bachchan was very close to Rajiv Gandhi, who even got Amitabh to enter politics. You can say that during Rajiv Gandhis's term as PM Amitabh Bachchan was in the thick of things.

It is alleged that Amitabh Bachchan post Indira Gandhi's assassination coaxed mobs to attack Sikhs saying 'Sikhs have killed our mother and should be taught a lesson.'

The Bachchan family is embarking on a World Tour, Stage Shows, called the Unforgettable Tour and it will commence in June 2008. They will be performing in UK, USA and Canada.

Sikhs should protest Bachchans coming to their Cities. Try to get the local Media involved and let the Public know of the heinous crime this man has aided and abetted. Sikhs should attend his Press Confrences and question him on his role in the 1984 riots. Distribute flyers that give information of the 1984 riots and also Bachchan's role. Sikhs should hold peaceful demonstrations outside the Hotels the Bachchan's stay in and outside the Venues where these shows are held.

Fact is Justice has failed in the 1984 riots matter. At least let those alleged to have been behind the riots know that we have not forgiven or forgotten their cruel past and also unmask these people in front of the World.

My only request is that there should be no violence.

-------------------

Here we go again!!! Let's play the victim card, accuse a celebrity to gain attention and incite more hatred.

The 1984 riots have been used and abused by certain members of Sikh community for over two decades to advance their own personal agenda or simply to gain more traffic to the website...perhaps! It is high time that Sikhs woke up and faced the reality. The Sikhs themselves are to be blamed for their own demise due to sheer lack of any sense of community - religious or otherwise. The cyclic return to the issue of 1984 riots is a reflection on Sikhism theology, which neither teaches forgiveness nor imparts any wisdom to trust God and love even your enemies, in order to reflect the nature of God.

Vikrimjit, were you there when Amitabh's mother, a Sikh, was standing next to him when he was inciting hatred against sikhs!!! Shame on you...you are a liar!

If Amitabh's mother was a SIKH then she was in name only. Why is Amitabh praying to stone idols and not to Shabad Guru? Why didnt she teach him Gurbani Gurmat?

Guru granth sahib jee, should not be called a 'book', and you should show some respect when talking about the guru's. No matter what your views are, this is a sikh forum, and you should think before you type.

    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
    • All of these are suppositions, bro. Linguists know that, generally, all the social classes of a physical area speak the same language, though some classes may use more advanced vocabulary. I'm talking about the syntax. That is, unless the King is an invader, which Porus was not. When you say Punjabi wasn't very evolved, what do you mean? The syntax must have been roughly the same. As for vocabulary, do you really think Punjabis at the time did nothing more than grunt to express their thoughts? That they had no shades of meaning? Such as hot/cold, red/yellow/blue, angry/sweet/loving/sad, etc? Why must we always have an inferiority complex?
    • I still think about that incident now and then, just haven't heard any developments regarding what happened, just like so many other things that have happened in Panjab!
    • There was a young Singh from abroad who went to Anandpur Sahib Hola and got into a fight with some Punjabis who were playing loud non-religious music. He had bana and a weapon or two. There were more of them than him.  He ended up losing his life. Don't be like that. Not worth it to fight manmukhs. @californiasardar1 ਮੂਰਖੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਲੁਝੀਐ ॥੧੯॥ Argue not with a fool. p473
