read sukhmani sahib as slow as possible by trying to contemplate every line so you can try to implement it into your life. without understanding the words and living the shabad, your just going to be left with a lot of reading and anxiety. 40X, 100X doesn't make a difference until you do vichaar on it.

remember, gurbaani isn't a mantar, where you read it and bam your worries are gone, vichaar and implementation is the way to feel the power of gurbaani.

There is a reason why people read Sukhmani Sahib so many times.

Baba Nand Singh Ji stated that one should try and recite all of Guru Granth Sahib at least once to obtain fruit. If one could not do this, he said there were other ways:

Complete recitation of the whole of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a month or,

Complete 50 paths of Sri Sukhmani Sahib in a month; recite 2 paths of Sri Sukhmani Sahib daily.

Complete 250 paths of Jap Ji Sahib in a month or; recite 10 paths of Jap Ji Sahib daily.

Complete 180 Malas (Rosary Mala of 108 beads) of Mool Mantra (from Ekonkar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Such) in a month or; do six malas daily.

Complete 80 Malas daily of Gur Mantar 'Waheguru'; 20 Malas of Waheguru if the Nam is recited four times on each bead.

In this way, one could obtain blessing as though one had recited all of Guru Granth Sahib and anyone could do it.
