BBC docu on Indra Gandi

From what i understand this cr*pamentary was made for the 20th anniversary for gundhi's death.

I hear that they will be making a big deal of it come november time ie at time of the assasination.

You all saw the rubbish that they portrayed, a number of particular points which come to mind are as follows,

1)Sikhs under akali dal started a succesionist movement, asking for religious autonomy ..... rubbish, the sikhs had the anandpur sahib resolution, and movements for independance etc started after 1984.

2)Sikhs of sant jarnail singh started killing hindu's and moderate sikhs in punjab ...... where is the proof for this claim? To claim a number of murders, there must be some degree of evidence on which to base these claims. Why wasnt sant ji charged with murder? Why werent the individuals who apparently killed others named and arressted? how many were killed? etc etc This was a baseless claim with no evidence. IN FACT they didnt mention the POLICE BRUTALITY during this period which led many sikhs to take up arms and reprisals against corrupt police officers did take place.

3) Sant Jarnail Singh was frightening ..... well it depends on which picture of him your going to show on ur docu!! Iv loads of pics of sant ji smiling and laughing... why not show one of them?

4)Sant Ji never had time for anyone especially not journalists.... rubbsih again, sant ji gave countless interviews to journalists, his parchar was always open not enclosed, tully etc complained because they couldnt debate with sant ji because he hammered them into the ground with his arguing. Hence he wasnt intelligent... what did they want him to take some kind of IQ test, if he was

nt intelligent then tully etc must be thick as s***.

5)Sant Ji talking about how if the govt tries to wipe out the sikhs it will be finished like many others before it. .... taken out of context, the quote rests on the important word 'IF' if the govt tries to wipe out sikhi then it is finished, not otherwise! Also why not play any of the other hundreds of quotes from sant about social tolerance, about ekta about peace and respect between the faiths etc

6)The sikhs shot at the troops first.....rubbish again, there was one singh who got killed by a sniper bullet on the 1st or 2nd of June, sorry cant recall his name just at the tip of my tongue! Attack was started by army, not the sikhs.

7)Forget to mention that the attack coincided with one of the busiest days in the year at harimandir sahib!! hmmm quite important to mention that dont you think?

8)Forget to mention that numerous reports show that sikh civillains were executed by the amry with shots to the backs of their hands at point blank range.

9)Sikhs in Gurdwara's across the country planned the killing of gundhi.... yes because thats all that happens in gurdwara isnt it!!! Forget the sikhi, all we discuss is assasination plots.

10) Gundhi belived in secularism and no sikh had their rights ever taken away from them during her reign..... anybody heard of the asiad games!? Where sikhs with turbans were not allowed to enter delhi during the time of the games!

11) Sikhs were made to look like nothing but warriors and fighters, that somehow we were waiting for it and asked for it. the docu showed how corrput and power hungry and just how ruthless she could be when she felt threatened... so why is it that she apparently acted so sensibly in 1984!!

12) no real pics shown of delhi victims.... why not? Would they shock the viewers too much? Why show paintings when countless images and news footage is available?

Basically we need to get our act together

and contact the bbc about this. Its disgusting that they can get away with that. Where are the docu's about the attack of the central place of worship of one of the worlds top 5 religions?! What about govt organised carnage in the capital city of the worlds largest democracy! Where are those docu's?

We need to contact the dif sikh groups and get them to act on this. This bull** is being spead by all tv networks in diff docu's all over the world. Time to stamp it out.

If you can all try and get a look at it, pls do so and then try and take some sort of action.

Mark tully is a stupid person I think.He never spent much time in punjab cuz there was a media blackout in punjab but he still commets abt sant ji as if he knows everything.

I dont beleive his theories.

Someone who has read his book plz enlighten me abt his understanding of the situation.

another thing i didnt understand, they said a minority of extermist supported him.

no matter what happened sant ji never deified the Hukam of the panth (Akal takath). Correct me if I am wrong but at one time a hukam from akal takath was passed saying no one could take weapons into debar sahib. This was to deter sant ji and jatha they did not defiy this but went around parkarma and did matha tekh out side darbar sahib. They did say it did not make sence as it was the opposite to the Gurus wishes. Guru ji told us to wear kirpan and they said no weapons should be taken, I belive they relised and retracted. My point is if they where minority we didn’t the sarbat khalsa through Akal takath give them hukam to leave the complex, because panth was united behind them.
