It is an utter shame that people are slandering the house of Guru Ram Das Ji. If this concerns the Sangat outside of India so much then why don't you come over here and clean it up. Rather than complaining, come to India with your £'s and $'s and sort it out.

Why would someone go to the extent of making a video of Darbar Sahib like that? If none Sikhs were to see that video do you think they would come to do darshan of Guru Ram Das Ji???

When i went to the Golden temple last year, it was so crowded and people were pushing to get through. There was no order there, except in the que for disabled. But it wasn't as bad as the muslims and hindu places of worship, but still i would of thought it better. As for that room in the video, the one where not many people were sitting, well i didn't even know it was there. I couldn't even tell where i was going because of too many people. But it's probably best just to go early in the morning.

harjeet veerji, what you are describing is called INDIA. :) it's a bit different than the comforts and orderliness of our western homes.

but you are correct, at amrit vela, it's less crowded and the feeling one gets simply being there is completely divine. :)

HAHAHAHAHA I was going to say nostradamus because people seem to have this prophetic knowledge given to them from ????????? Just watch this random king of the world will make everything better????? We are the Khalsa Panth, why do we wait for some guy to do what we should do???????? GuruPanth is the Raj, why wait for a fake prophetic message to do the werk????????? We as Sikhs can go and fix anything physical or spiritual. Seva for someone could be to do .00000000001% of what needs to be done and thats a start, each Sikh doing seva for the purpose of Harmandir Sahib should be the same as donald trump spending money on it. We dont need to wait for one guy to say "do this etc" We are millions upon millions and we are waiting for this "one guy" to save Sikhi???????????????? Guru Khalsa Panth is the Khalsa Raj.

In the morning they have two sevadaars there that stand just where people were jumping to get in the line in the second video. They dont let too many people go inside at a time to matha tek. If it wasnt for the sevadaars there would be a rugby match everytime. I went there last year and the queuing wasnt bad at all, with huge amount of sangat you expect to stand in line for a bit. And if there are desi people anywhere you know theres gonna be push and shove. Desi people dont know how to stand in line calmly.

Oh and thank god for the nri that payed to get the bloody washooms in good condition, before that washrooms in the pind were in better condition than at golden temple.

Where are all these people coming up with all these end times prophecies? I have been hearing it for many years now..."THERES ONLY 5 YEARS LEFT...2 YEARS LEFT"....says who?

Only God knows when this will happen. Only God knows when the world was created and only He knows when it will end. People have been predicting the end for thousands of years now and...NOTHING HAPPENED! I think we should just focus on the present and be the best Gursikhs we can, and let Guru Sahib take care of the rest.

All great sikhs in the past like Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Jee, Baba Attar Singh Jee have predicted about Khalsa Raj and said that its very near. I agree that only Akaal Purakh knows about the exact timing. I am not trying to act as some prophet here.

The industrial revolution is Maya and it will end, thats all I am saying. The world wont end but the industrial civilization will end. The earth can no longer sustain 6.5 billion people and all the pollution. This will lead to anarchy, resource wars, food wars, fuel wars, religious riots, rapes, murders.

People have made a great spiritual place(Maha teerath), Sri Amritsar Sahib into a commercial pollution centre, all this crap will end in the future.

i see.

ok, but until them, how about we allow these hard working sikh merchants to do their maya business in peace, so they can feed their maya families with their hard earned maya money. :)

You forgot that many of these so called merchants openly robbed visitors to the Harimandir Sahib with their extortionate prices. If they wanted to do business they should be honest and charge fair prices.

Then many of them sell that rice "parshad" which is not even parshad but just bulk buy fried rice which they package into little bags and then tell people it is phulia da parshad.

Also the video mentions that money coul be spent on paint. Well it is painted every now and then but instead of getting specialist painters they get the local kar sewa baba gang to literally splash paint everywhere. A few months ago one so called kar sewa baba had the contract for painting the darshani deori taken away from him as he decided to paint the deori like a cheap tacky ice cream parlour using bright pink and other disgusting colours.

    • Net pay after taxes. If you don't agree, think about this: If you were a trader and started off in China with silk that cost 100 rupees and came to India, and you had to pay total 800 rupees taxes at every small kingdom along the way, and then sold your goods for 1000 rupees, you'd have 100 rupees left, right? If your daswandh is on the gross, that's 100 rupees, meaning you have nothing left. Obviously, you owe only 10% of 100, not 10% of 1000. No, it's 10% before bills and other expenses. These expenses are not your expenses to earn money. They are consumption. If you are a business owner, you take out all expenses, including rent, shop electricity, cost of goods sold, advertising, and government taxes. Whatever is left is your profit and you owe 10% of that.  If you are an employee, you are also entitled to deduct the cost of earning money. That would be government taxes. Everything else is consumption.
    • No, bro, it's simply not true that no one talks about Simran. Where did you hear that? Swingdon? The entire Sikh world talks about doing Simran, whether it's Maskeen ji, Giani Pinderpal Singh, Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi, or Sants. So what are you talking about? Agreed. Agreed. Well, if every bani were exactly the same, then why would Guru ji even write anything after writing Japji Sahib? We should all enjoy all the banis. No, Gurbani tells you to do Simran, but it's not just "the manual". Gurbani itself also has cleansing powers. I'm not saying not to do Simran. Do it. But Gurbani is not merely "the manual". Reading and singing Gurbani is spiritually helpful: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥  ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਪੜਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The Lord's Bani and the words are the best utterances. Ever sing hear and recite them, O brother and the Perfect Guru shall save thee. Pause. p611 Here Guru ji shows the importance of both Bani and Naam: ਆਇਓ ਸੁਨਨ ਪੜਨ ਕਉ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗਹਿ ਅਨ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The mortal has come to hear and utter Bani. Forgetting the Name thou attached thyself to other desires. Vain is thy life, O mortal. Pause. p1219 Are there any house manuals that say to read and sing the house manual?
    • All of these are suppositions, bro. Linguists know that, generally, all the social classes of a physical area speak the same language, though some classes may use more advanced vocabulary. I'm talking about the syntax. That is, unless the King is an invader, which Porus was not. When you say Punjabi wasn't very evolved, what do you mean? The syntax must have been roughly the same. As for vocabulary, do you really think Punjabis at the time did nothing more than grunt to express their thoughts? That they had no shades of meaning? Such as hot/cold, red/yellow/blue, angry/sweet/loving/sad, etc? Why must we always have an inferiority complex?
    • I still think about that incident now and then, just haven't heard any developments regarding what happened, just like so many other things that have happened in Panjab!
    • There was a young Singh from abroad who went to Anandpur Sahib Hola and got into a fight with some Punjabis who were playing loud non-religious music. He had bana and a weapon or two. There were more of them than him.  He ended up losing his life. Don't be like that. Not worth it to fight manmukhs. @californiasardar1 ਮੂਰਖੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਲੁਝੀਐ ॥੧੯॥ Argue not with a fool. p473
