A Humble Vaisakhi Gift for the Sikhs

From Interfaith Charities International

MISSION: To distribute 6 million CDs worldwide.

Los Angeles, CA, USA April 9, 2004

Interfaith Charities Int’l, a California-based charity, is releasing a 23-hour MP3/VCD (audio only) CD with 25 topics relating to the daily life of a Sikh—with answers from Guru Granth Sahib—as the founding gurus had envisioned a Sikh to be.

The CD, called “Sikh Di Pachhaan”, is a gift to the worldwide Sikh community and the Charity is distributing it FREE.

The CD has answers—from Gurbani—on topics such as Kesh, Amrit, Alcohol, Sikh family life & family values and 20 other topics.

It is compiled from Kirtan and Viakhia from Professor Darshan Singh Ji, former Jathedar of Akal Takhat, who has a knack for describing complex Gurbani in such simple day-to-day life examples, that an average person can understand it too.

“This is a tribute to my late father, Capt. Baboo Singh Ji (S.P. retired), who used to say: ‘Son, grow u

p to be someone who makes a difference in other people’s lives, for the better.’ Now that I head this charity I can fulfill his expectations of me, and my eventual goal is to do this for other religions too, with the vision to bring about Love and Harmony amongst us all, because all religions teach their followers to become good people and to do good to others. Once we realize that, then we will love and respect each other, and that is our goal at Interfaith Charities Int’l,” said its president Bir Ishwar Singh Grewall.

“So far 50,000 CDs have been distributed or will be distributed by the end of next week,” said Bir. “This CD answers all the questions that every Sikh has but cannot get answers for, in such simple, easy-to-understand language. It covers such topics as: ‘If we can cut our nails, why not our hair?’ etc. and 24 other mesmerizing topics.”

“Listening to these tapes by Singh Sahib changed my life,” said Bir, “so we decided to put these 25 selected topics on an MP3 CD which can be played on the latest DVD, VCD in audio, or MP3 player, or on computers, and every Sikh is encouraged to listen and make copies and pass it on to other Sikhs.” The objective is to revive the feelings of Sikhism, which is why the CDs are being distributed FREE.
