a fitting translation would be: non-sikhi related sash introduced by the british during the 1800s to replace the kamar kassa worn by nihangs so that the sikhs could not hide any small shastar in it.

...yes...that seems right.

o by the way, the wearing of a kamar kassa is legal in britain so there is no need for a ghatra.
