i was told these guys were basically "The Holy Smokes and Tooti-Nungs: The Next Generation". they had a wide following and links to most sikh communities, as well as other links to non-sikh communities. the thing about SP is that they had a lot of old people in control, the ones who were in groups that fought the skinheads when they came over. after the slough raid, and as the police got more heavyhanded with the sikhs, it seemed that the elders where getting annoyed that the youth were becoming more unrestricted, violent and harder to control. this led to the group just dissolving itself. some parts carried on, but with reduced effectiveness, others turned to crime. those who could, got jobs or went back to education.

on a side note, back in 2003 or so there were rumours that the old leadership had had enough of what was happening to the community and were going to reassemble the organisation.
