No, not at all, but it vasts our knowledge and helps us to understand our

own religion in better way as whilst reading GURBANI when some reference

of some religion comes, we need the study at that particular time and without

the same we will remain unaware of the real message given to us.

Hindoo Turak kooo Raaphjoo Imaam Saaphoo, maanas koo jaat sahi ekai paithchaanbo||

Someone is Hindu and someone a Muslim, then someone is Shia, and someone a

Sunni, but all the human beings, as a species, are recognized as one and the same.

Kartaa dareem soiRaajak Raheem oee, doosro na bhed koibhool bhram maanbo||

Karta (The Creator) and Karim (Merciful) is the same Lord, Razak (The Sustainer) and Rahim

(Compassionate) is the same Lord, there is no other second, therefore consider this verbal

distinguishing feature of Hindusim and Islam as an error and an illusion.

And

Dehraa masoot sooo poojaa au nivaaj ooo, maanas sahi ek pai anek ko bhramaao hai||

The temple and the mosque are the same, there is no difference between a Hindu worshipand Muslim prayer; all the human beings are the same, but the illusion is of various types.

Devtaa adev Jachchh gaddhrah Turak Hindoo, nidare nidare desan ke bhes ko prabhaao hai||

The gods, demons, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Turks and Hindus… all these are due to the differencesof the various garbs of different countries.

Ekai nain ekai kn ekai deh ekai baan, khaak baad aatas au aab ko ralaao hai||

The eyes are the same, the ears the same, the bodies are the same and the habits are the same,

all the creation is the amalgam of earth, air, fire and water.

Alah abhekh sooo Puraan au Kuraan ooo, ek hoo daroop sabhai ek hoo banaao hai||Allah of Muslims and Abhekh (Guiseless) of Hindus are the same, the Puranas of Hindus and the holy Quran of the Muslims depict the same reality; all have been created in the image of the same Lord and have the same formation.

does studying other religions make u a bad sikh?

In 52 Hukumnamas given by Sri Guru Gobind SIngh JI Guru Ji advises to study other faiths so its not wrong.

I think there are some advantages of studying other faiths which includes the following:

1) Learning about other faiths gives you the understanding of different religions; so when people like the RSS, NIrankaris, Radhsoami, Jehovah Witnesses, Evangelicals, Fanatical <Edited> Muslims try to confuse you and claim their faith is the true path you can use their own religious text to refute their claims.

2)Learning about other faiths gives you the understanding of different religions which is a great way to converse and have good, friendly, and positive relations with people belonging to different spiritual paths. Surely this is a good thing because Guru Ji has always taught us tolerance and acceptance of other people. We live in a multicultural society so its good to learn about other peoples belief systems.

I think its ok to learn about others as long as one doesnt do the following:

1) try to relate different religious text to Gurmat. Gurmat is distinct we cant compare half-baked philosophies to the complete truth contained in Gurmat. True many faiths have things in common and we should celebrate and respect these similarities. But when interpreting or understanding Gurbani, we should never relate Hindu, Abrahamic ,etc concepts to Gurmat. For example Gurmat does not agree with the after life/mukhti disciple master-relationship concepts of HIndus and Muslims ; thus, we should not be making efforts to make such connections between SIkhi or any other faith.

2) Learning about other faiths , but neglecting the study of your own faith is a major transgression. In fact one is considered a Tankhayia if one does so. For example, if one starts learning about Islam or Christian sometime during the day, but did not wake up for Amirt Vela, do their Nitnem, and Naam Simran then one is considered a Tankhayia. If one makes an attempt to study the life story of Jesus but does not make efforts to learn life story of GUru Sahiban then they are considered Tankhayia.Sikih is about being firm and unshakable in Sikhi so its important to have strong beliefs in Sikhi before beginning the pursuit of studying other faiths.

Where did you get that source from. I have been looking for the original Hukumnamas of GUru Sahib online but I cant find them anywhere.
