We are sure more have been contacted as further responses are expected from Birmingham, Bradford, Coventry, Derby, Doncaster, Leeds, Leicester, London, Nottingham, Southampton, Telford, Walsall, Watford, Wolverhampton etc.

We set a target of 40-50 MPs by this evening and are aiming for 100 by the end of the week if we are to put real pressure on the ONS.

So please confirm if you have contacted your MP. Post the name of the MP you have contacted here or email the name to info@sikhfederation.com

24 hours later you should follow up on each MP to make sure they write to the ONS on behalf of Sikh constituents in their area. Some may refer to the fact that Rob Marris MP has already written to ONS about the findings and recommendations in the report and asked for a response before the Regulation is presented to Parliament. But ask your MP to write to the ONS in his or her own capacity as this will strengthen the Sikh case.

Please take action as soon as you get this message

John McDonnell has been contacted and has had a meeting yesterday in westminster hall regarding this issue and is trying to arrange a meeting with the ONS

On the other hand Virnder Sharma - has not replied to even one email from several people

Sharma also spoke in the debate.

Any MP responded yet?

Rob Marris wrote straight away.

Other MPs are believed to have written today.

Much is happening with several daily exchanges between the Sikh Federation (UK), ONS and MPs.

There is quite a lot of tension.

But the more MPs we contact the better!

John McDonnell (Hayes and Harlington) raised the issue.

I had to read through paragraphs of all that amusing right honourable gentlemen nonsense before I got to it. So just scroll right to the bottom and its there.

I noticed he mentioned Punjab Radio twice in his speech. They must have used their links to push the issue through.

What did Sharma say in the debate? Did he support the request. Hes too lazy to bother replying to Sikhs who have been emailing or phoning his office.
