waheguru ji

an eye for an eye

has anyone read bachitar natak

how many times did Harichand attack Guru Gobind Singh Ji

only after the third strike did Maharaj retaliate

How many times did Painday Khan attack Maharaj Guru HarGobind Ji

and still Guru Ji gave him shade

Bhai Khanaiya Ji gave water and band aids to friend and enemy

Fareed those who strike you do not strike them but instead kiss their feet and return home - Guru Granth Sahib Ji

remember daya is a virtue

you turn the other cheek once or twice

the ONLY time when it is okay to attack is if a person is a potential threat and if there is no other way

remember Guru Amar Das Ji and datu

not a single Sikh hit hime ven tho he kicked Guru Sahib

daya is the greatest virtue

we must love like guru ji does

oo and of course how did Guru Nanak Dev Ji deal with Babar

Wales85 a sikh can never support such thing like air india bombings. ( though we as sikhs deny it there are terrorist elements in sikhi as there is in all religions) there is a book called soft target which is interesting it looks into the conspiracy that it was india who themshelves blew up there own plane to demean sikhs as terrorists and thus make the sikhs lose support from international community on the right to there own country.

if anyone knows of it please post it link to the ebook

Agreed, in addition to the censorship in the media some people go as far as to say that the body guards of Indira Gandhi didn't actually kill her.

A Sikh doesn't condone terrorist activities at all or taking another person's life. The Sikhs wanted Khalistan because the BASIC human rights were violated, in consequence the indian government launched very, very inhumane campaigns against those who were for Khalistan. They would perform unthinkable acts to daughters and wives all in front of the rest of the family.

You need to look at this subject fully in order to grasp the truth. This isn't something we can write a text-block on and hope you agree with us upon.

A few things to remember when reading articles, read the credibility, authority, accuracy, and room for error in each article you read. Another think you should keep in mind is how corrupt the indian government is, with the right amount of cash you can get a person killed without a problem, even today. Imagine what else you could achieve to benefit your own cause.

A Sikh is that who fights for THE PEOPLE'S rights through diplomatic means, if all means are exercised, then and only then is it just to lift the sword. Those who did fight against the government were labeled 'terrorists', but they weren't terrorists and I'm certain if people were informed of the situation they would be labeled as revolutionaries against a tyrannical government. A police force that would slaughter innocent familes...

Just google a bit on the subject and read up on some of the links other members have provided. Sikhi doesn't condone any terrorist activities at ALL, anyone who says that we do is clearly uninformed and is a victim to misinformation spread by the indian government.

edit- it is important to look at ALL THE SIKHS who have fought and gave up their physical lives for other religions and people and expected nothing but waheguru's love in return. This is the true essense of Sikhi.

A clear case where the rest of the world started to gain sympathy for Sikhs in India is this U.S. congres

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
