True, I'll talk with relatives about it. I'm sure they've all heard about it over the news though. Many pinds and city places have RO (reverse osmosis) systems either built into the household or community RO points where you can refill your assigned mini water tankee. I went to Punjab over the summer and went with my mama ji to get the water from the RO system on the assigned days usually. The problem lies with the poor people obtaining clean water...

I don't pride myself in those things (or at least i think i don't/try not to), i was just making a joke (for all you know i may not be punjabi-born or jatt) laugh.giftongue.gif

Can you please provide sources? I do agree though that it is a deliberate effort to contaminate the water system in Punjab.

Here it is translated from Punjabi into English (as best I could do).

A Deep Conspiracy Behind Uranium and Nitrate in the Waters of Punjab

Says –It is being done to Make Punjabi children Mentally Handicapped and Retarded

Chandigarh, June16 ( Bhullar) When no elements like Uranium, from which atom bombs are made ( and nitrates), were present in our waters, river waters, and underground water (in the past), from where did these have come now? If it is not a deep conspiracy to make Punjabi children physically and mentally handicapped and retarded, what else can it be?

S. Simranjit Singh Mann, the president of Shiromani Akali Dal Amiritsar has issued a statement asking these questions. He said that the water samples from (the Punjab towns of) Faridkot, Kotkapura, Mukatsar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Phagwara collected by a team of water experts from Germany and U.K and tested in their laboratories, show the presence of high concentration of uranium and nitrates. This (finding) is an indication of (conspiracy) of harming and playing with havoc with the lives of our children. This is the reason why the diseases related to thyroid, cancer, gastro- intestinal and related diseases have spread widely in Malwa region. It is sad that no arrangement is being made to supply drinking water without theses (impurities) and other germs to prevent the loss of lives occurring every day. Nor is there any specialty hospital to deal with theses being established in the Malwa region.

S. Mann further stated that in Nangal there is Nangal Fertilizer Factory. They have a stockpile of Heavy Water and materials used in atomic bombs. The Government of India has established secret plants to enrich uranium and make heavy water near Pandoh (a town ?) on the river Beas and River Satluj . From that location the polluted water is discharged in Beas and Satluj rivers through tunnels. Also, there are no schemes to treat the polluted water discharged from the chemical and dangerous metals industries. By discharging this polluted water (from these factories) into the rivers, poisons are put into our waters, by which an assault on the physical and mental health of children of this place (Punjab) continues. He appealed to the International Atomic Energy Commission, U.N, International organizations for protecting Human Rights, and the W.H.O to come forward to investigate this inhuman treatment being meted out to and step out to protect the Sikhs and their youth.

Pandoh Dam is situated in Mandi district. The lake is the reservoir of the dam which has been targeted at the generation of hydroelectric generation. The lake diverts the water from River Beas and pours it into the River Satluj. The dam is under Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and the road built over the dam is a part of NH 21. The Beas water is diverted and through tunnels taken to Salapad (around 40 km from here)where water is used to generate electricity along with the water of Satluj.

Im in no doubt the location will be changed after this exposure but you all need to see and tell people who they are trusting now if anybody is on the fence on the need for Sikh independance tell me why

Just do a simple search online of cancer rises in Punjab if you are going to excuse it down to food changes then look at villages then if you are going to put it down to fertilizer then look at occurences in other countries who use the same soil treatment agents

The Pandoh diversion dam is located on the Beas river in Mandi district. It diverts excess monsoon water towards the Pong dam. Otherwise, it diverts water towards the Satluj river which feeds the Gobind Sagar reservoir of the Bhakra dam.

'Now the discharge in the upstream Beas river has reduced due to less rain in its catchments Thursday. So the situation is comfortable for the time being,' he added.

The water level in the Pong dam was 1,393.06 feet Thursday evening and the dam can store water up to 1,395 ft.

Another BBMB official said: 'We are maintaining balance between the inflow and outflow from the reservoir. It is right now getting 18,000 cusecs and the same is discharged through operation of turbines. So there will be no discharge of excess water.'

For the first time in 15 years, the spillways of the Pong dam were opened Sep 14 for three days as a precautionary measure as the water level touched 1,394.25 ft level. At that time, additional 15,000 cusecs were released.

The dam, located along the Punjab border, about 250 km from here, meets the irrigation requirements of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.

For those who dont know the background of Simranjeet Mann look at this

Simranjit Singh Mann (Punjabi: ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ) (Date of Birth - May 20, 1945, Simla, India)[1] is a politician from Punjab.[2][3][4] He is president of a sikh political party, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), that used to advocate Sikhs sedition from India and form a separate sikh nation, Khalistan. Mann has been arrested or detained some 30 times but he has never been convicted.

In 1984, he resigned his post as Commandant of the Central Industrial Security Force (I.P.S.) in Bombay[1] in protest of mass murder of Sikhs' (including women and children) and attack on the most sacred shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) during Operation Blue Star which was carried out by the Indian army, and was detained. Mann was charged, among other things, with conspiracy to assassinate Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

He was elected in absentia to India's Parliament by an overwhelming mandate in the State of Punjab, and unconditionally released "in the interests of the State", with all charges dropped, after five years in prison, in November 1989. He was denied an Indian passport on the grounds that he was "threat to the security and integrity of India". Mann was denied entry into the Indian Parliament when he insisted on carrying a kirpan with him.

In May 1993, while campaigning in support of a candidate during the Jalandhar by-elections, a gunman attempted to assassinate Mann. No one was charged in the crime.

On November 3, 1999, after Mann was elected to the Indian Parliament, the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered the Union of India and the Passport Office in Chandigarh to issue a passport to Mann.[5]

Mann is a two time Member of Parliament, winning from Taran Tarn in 1989 and Sangrur in 1999.[6]

He comes from a political family. His father Lt.Col. Joginder Singh Mann was a speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha (also known as Punjab Legislative Assembly) in 1967.[7] He is married to Geetinder Kaur Mann.[8] Mann's wife and Capt. Amarinder Singh's wife Maharani Preneet Kaur are sisters.[9]

He was educated at the Bishop Cotton School, Simla and Government College Chandigarh. He was a gold medalist in subject "History"[1]

He has one son Emaan Singh and two daughters Pavit Kaur and Nanki Kaur.[1] Some news agencies also spell his son's name as Imaan Singh Mann.[10] His son is also a politician.[11][12]

[edit] Indian Police Service

He had appeared for Central Services Examination in 1966 and subsequently he joined Indian Police Services in the year 1967 and he was allocated "Punjab Cadre". He worked on several Indian Police Service positions, including Assistant Superintendent of Police Ludhiana, Senior Superintendent of Police Ferozepur, Senior Superintendent of Police Faridkot, Inspector-General of Police Railways, Patiala, Deputy Director of Vigilance Bureau Chandigarh, Commandant of Panjab Armed Police and Group Commandant of Industrial Security Force Bombay. He also served as Assistant Deputy Commissioner Governor of Panjab. To protest against Indian Government troops attack (also known as Operation Bluestar on Golden Temple he resigned from Indian Police Service on June 18, 1984.[1][13]

After the publishing of this report on Sikh Sangat there has been a major development in India knowing they have been exposed they hurriedly got a hindu speaker into Vidhan Sabha to speak up about mercury poisoning diverting the blame do you see the manipulation of these people this is only one case of hundreds how will they cover up the other cases we are about to expose.

Blindness from lead, mercury catches House’s attention

Naveen S Garewal

Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, March 10

Congress legislator from Abohar Sunil Jakhar today made an emotional, yet forceful appeal to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, seeking its urgent intervention to prevent people in the Malwa region from getting blinded by water contaminated with lead and mercury. Jakhar said the House must debate the issue and find an immediate solution.

Just as the Zero Hour started, Jakhar pointed out that media reports had highlighted the issue that needed immediate and serious intervention. He said since the two cases in question were from his area, he got these verified and found that contamination of sub-soil water from a nearby mill was responsible for the spread of illness in the area.

At the same time, he pointed out that the SAD-BJP had received huge amounts of money under various health schemes like the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). Out of the allotted Rs 697.87 crore only Rs 110 crore were partly used resulting in the lapse of several crore, while people remained without medical help.

Jakhar pointed out that the Centre had released Rs 2.86 crore to Punjab under the National Programme for Control of Blindness in 2009-2010, but the government failed to use evan a single paise. Again in 2010-11, out of Rs 6.91 crore allotted under the same plan, no money was used, showing utter callousness on the part of the state government.

Similarly, he said that many other central grants lapsed due to lack of initiative by the state. He pointed out the case of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, where the Union Government extends Rs 30,000 per family for treatment, but since the Punjab Government has not issued any BPL cards, people cannot take advantage of this centrally funded scheme.

At this point, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal got up and said that he, too, was very concerned after reading the news report and he had directed his Principal Secretary to conduct a thorough probe into the matter and come to him with a detailed report. “We will take all necessary action in the matter,” he assured the House. At the same time, the Chief Minister reiterated that his government was ensuring that no water from industry or sewerage from towns and cities went into the rivers or canals. “Ninety per cent of the rivers will become clean by the end of this year,” he said.

Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla, who had earlier said that the issue of contamination of water did not fall in the purview of her department, asked the Congress legislators to help her find BPL families in the state as her department had failed to locate many such families.

do you all see the power of exposing these people they are running scared the more we draw attention to the hindu conspiracy the more they will shift the blame onto sikhs

before even trying to blame badal and his cronies didnt this <banned word filter activated> realise the mercury affects badal and his family villages and relatives also

you should all be able to see right through this it has been an old age trick to poison water wells in war well do you see we dont even know our relatives and kin in punjab are in a war and being attacked every day

something needs to be done now not tommorow take action today every time we expose them they try to worm their selves out of it
