Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Saadh Sangat ji firstly I'd like to apologise If my question is offensive, please take me as your little brother and forgive me.

My Question is - Guru Arjan Dev ji before being Shaheed was asked - if you show us miracle/Ridhya Sidhya you will be released. The same refers to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji - he was given the option of showing Magical 'tricks', but both Gurus rather accepted Shaheedi.

Guru Nanak DEv ji used Ridhya Siddhya (i.e When Vali Kandari threw the stone down, where Guru Nanak Dev ji stopped it with his palm), which is a case where it wasn't used to entertainment or anything, but was only used for necessity, and not to SHOW that he was the true Guru.

My Question is - there’s a Sakhi abuot Guru HarKrishan sahib ji being question that he's the Guru, and Guru Sahib proved it, prolly by using Riddhya Siddhya, by asking the 'questioner' to bring someone and I will make him do 'katha' of the Geeta.

and the Person was smart so he brought a person who was illeterate

Guru HarKrishan SAhib ji showed tha he's the Guru by making the illeteral Sikh - to do katha of the Geeta!

Is it not a Contradiction ?

AND wheres the limit, in whcih case is it Gurmat, which is it manmat?

is it i.e okay to show Riddhya Sidya to scientists to prove excistance of God?

eventhough tha takes MASSIVE bhagti, it's just a question thats been in my head since long, not tha i'm even CLOSE to getting there

I am very confused by this, can someone please answer.

just holla back If I make no sense

and PLEASE do forgive me If I have offended anyone.

for those not aware off the Sakhi of Guru Harkrishan Sahib ji getting 'Chajju' please read below -

Pandit Lal Chand, a learned scholar of Hindu literature questioned Guru Sahib about the meanings of Gita. Then Guru Sahib called a water-carrier named Chhaju Ram, and with the Guru's grace, this unlettered man was able to expound the philosophy of the Gita. When Pandit Lal Chand listened the scholarly answer from Chhaju, he bent his head in shame and besought the forgiveness of Guru Sahib. Pandit Lal Chand became the Sikh and escorted the Guru Sahib up to Kurukashatra.

he didnt, the emperor wanted to see a little "entertainment", ridhia siddhia are not some magic tricks.
okay to show Riddhya Sidya to scientists to prove excistance of God?

no, the reason is, they'll find out themselves when they die. the gurus used their shakti for the benefit of other people, not to show, remember these shaktis go if you have haomai. of course the science world will be astounded, that would bring haomai into the person who showed them shakti..

alot of people gain power but waste it by showing it to people for money. ultimaltly they loose there powers.

My Question is - there’s a Sakhi abuot Guru HarKrishan sahib ji being question that he's the Guru, and Guru Sahib proved it, prolly by using Riddhya Siddhya, by asking the 'questioner' to bring someone and I will make him do 'katha' of the Geeta.

people made fun of this person (from what i know), guru ji knew that and sympathised with chajju, the pandit was challengning guru ji, thinking he (pandit) knew the answers and no-one else could match his gyan. to make him neeva guru ji bought chajju in, remember untoucables didnt know anything on god, nor were they allowed to as a part of society. guru ji said that was wrong. hence this sakhi took place.

Sat Sri Akal:

And then it was Tegh Bahadur who succeeded him. (12)

It was for the sake of the sacred thread and the frontal mark of the Hindus,

That he performed a great act of chivalry.

To protect the holy, he offered all he had.,

And lo, he offered his head, but uttered not a sigh of regret. (13)

He suffered martyrdom for the sake of Religion.

His head he gave, but not his honour.

God’s men are, indeed ashamed to act

Like showmen and perform tricks! (14)

Having broken the (body’s) earthen pitcher

On the head of the king of Delhi,

He departed to the world of God.

Nay, not one has performed the Deed

That Tegh Bahadur had. (15)

The whole world mourned his loss:

And cried, Alas, alas, but the domain of gods

Resounded with the shouts of Victory, Victory,

Victory be to the Man of God. (16)

(Vachitra Natak, Chapter V by Guru Gobind Singh - http://www.sikhs.org/transl9.htm ).

Thanks a lot for that quote MS514 veer ji.

Kandola I slightly dis-agree with you about the SAkhi of Chajju, but thanks for the explaination.

AS for the 'bold' part in Ms-veer ji's post - it is SO true tahta's why Guru Harrai ji didn't speak to Ramrai anymore.

thanks a lot for your contributions
