THE MASAND COMBINE: Representatives of the Sant-Samaj (Dhumma, Randhawa, Sukhchain Brahmpura) and the ruling Badal Regime presenting a letter to the Election Commision

CHANDIGARH, PUNJAB (KP) - The mainstream Indian media has published proof of rampant voter registration fraud being carried out by the ruling Akali Dal Badal party and Sant-Smaj combine in which non-Sikhs are being registered to vote in the upcoming Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) elections.

The Hindustan Times and the Indian Express, both have published reports indicating Akali Dal Badal party has fraudulently registered Hindu and Muslim individuals to partake in SGPC polls.

"Hindus, Muslims and other ineligible voters have been included as voters for SGPC election from CM Badal’s village... how one can expect free and fair elections... ?”

Various Sikh political parties have filed complaints to the office of Gurdwara Election Commission regarding these violations of the Gurudwara Act, yet they have all fallen on deaf ears and have elicited no official response from the commission or the centre.

A complaint letter by Dal Khalsa representatives directly questioned the Gurdwara Election Commission’s independence and credibility and charged “All your tall talk…regarding free and fair elections has been thoroughly exposed…your neutrality has been questioned, the sanctity of the gurdwara elections has been compromised.”

Headlines from the Hindustan Times Newspaper

The letter further stated: “Media report have exposed that even Hindus, Muslims and other ineligible voters have been included as voters for SGPC election from Chief Minister’s village, Badal. In such a condition, how one can expect free and fair SGPC elections to be held on September 18?”

A report by the Hindustan Times stated that Ghasii Lal and Balram, two clean-shaven Hindus from Rajansthan and both ineligible to vote in the SGPC elections were verified to be on the official voter list.

"More than 50% of the men from Sikh families of Badal village have shorn hair. But they all are in the voter list of the SGPC."

According to the Times, Ghaisi Lal and Balram are not alone. Scores of people whose names are in the SGPC voters' list in Badal village in Punjab's Muktsar district are not eligible to vote in the elections, their investigations and documents indicated.

The HT article further stated that:

In some cases, ‘Singh’ and ‘Kaur’ have been added to the names. There are also at least 17 Hindu-sounding names in the SGPC voter list without 'Singh' or 'Kaur'. Badal village has around 1,720 registered voters for the SGPC polls.

"There are many migrant voters whose names have been added to the voter list for their loyalty towards the Badal family," said Nachhatar Singh, a resident of Badal. "Apart from migrant labourers working in fields, many Hindu families of the village are also included in the voter list."

In contrast, former SGPC member Hardinider Singh Dhillon (a cousin of the chief minister and a former Punjab minister) and his wife Harinder Kaur (daugter of former SGPC president Paritam Singh Khanug) find their names missing from the SGPC voter list of Badal village.

"Fake voters are not only from the Hindu and Muslim communities," said Jaswinder Kaur, former sarpach of Badal. "More than 50% of the men from Sikh families of Badal village have shorn hair. But they all are in the voter list of the SGPC."

Muktsar deputy commissioner Arashdeep Singh Thind said a probe and verification from concerned returning officers would be ordered if any complaint came to his office. He however avoided further questions saying he was busy in flood-control work.

Polling fixing fraud, ballot stuffing, intimidation, and voter bribery via free distribution of cheap alcohol and illegal drugs are a common occurrence in the SGPC elections and an accepted part of the process by those who are involved.

This election will be no exception despite the direct involvement of the Sant-Samaj, a self-appointed trade union of “Saints” whom many dub as charlatans due to their political alliance with the corrupt Badal regime.

Please don't take me wrong, but in such a state of affairs with GOONS now at top of the SGPC, what should Sikhs overseas need to do with their Daswandh Money which we used to earlier? I am having an opinion that we should rather strengthen organisations such as KHALSAAID or similar organisations working on GURMAT principles to 1). Help Mankind across the Globe. 2). Spread Sikhi & message of Guru Nanak across the Globe. 3). Strenghten Overseas SIKH Media. 4). Open Universities/Colleges/Schools overseas with GURMAT principles. Money donated to SGPC (at least a good %) will be used for liquor/corruption today or tomorrorow. I may be wrong, so please correct my opinion.

Most shocking is the alliance with Sant Samaj, hundreds of years old institutions such as the Taksal is supporting a group that have promoted Police officers responsible for killing many of their members.

Let's get one thing straight here. The Taksal will never support corrupt politicians or so called jathedars that elect themselves as the Taksal Jathedar. There is a group of Singhs in Canada, that refer to themselves as Taksal. I won't disclose their location, but they are dishonest to the bone, indulge in the caste system, by discriminating against Singhs whose family comes from different caste. Not to mention they have no problem dancing at receptions with the opposite gender. Now ask yourself would Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa ever keep any of these guys with him? It would never happen and they wouldn't even be allowed in the jatha. The Taksal stands on the high morals of Satguru. When people who refer to themselves as Taksal and discard these morals, then they only hurt the 'name' of the Taksal, but the Taksal institution stands to Satguru's high morals.

There is a loss of high morals not just in the youth today, but parents that might associate themselves with a certain jatha. And we can't say they are just mistakes. When the Taksal Singhs are sitting next to you or even enter the room, you can just feel their presence. Don't mistake the fake for the real Singhs.

Those sant samajis who aligned with Badal should no longer be made welcome on their foreign tours. They are nothing but turncoats, last year Dhumma was telling everyone on Sikh channel after the Ludhiana police firing that he would take on the Badals. He did not stay true to his word yet claims he is a brahmgiani.

People need to be aware of all these Badal chamchey in the sant samaj.

Kudos to Baba Ranjit Singh Ji who stood back from the whole SGPC elections, the badals would have loved his voting endorsement but Baba Ji was busy doing dharam pachar.

I agree with zoltansingh thati it was good that bhai Ranjit Singh ji Dhadrianwale did not take part in elections and spoke against sant samaj's decision to take part in elections. I just wished they said more against sant samaj.

I wonder if bhai Ranjit Singh has now left sant samaj? God willing, bhai sahib can remain free from this dirty game of politics.

Does any body knows if "Baljeet Singh Daduwal" also a part of Sant Samaaj and joined hands with Badal Akali Dal?

Doubt it very much as Baba Baljeet Singh Ji has not fallen in line with the Dhumma samajis. He is always willing to take on Sirsa Pakhandi and others unlike the samajis who call off morchas when Sukhbir Badal asks them to and sit silently on this issue.

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
