Harinder_Singh Jee,

Please explain it. Why the translator has added words 'Krishna' and 'Arjuna' to Guru's Vaak here?

Balbir Singh

I am guessing

ਪਾਰਥ= Arjun ( I remembering watching mahabharata on tv and Krishan always used to call arjun "ਪਾਰਥ" ( Paarth)

ਹਰਿ, ਸਯਾਮ= Krishna

also Page 1059 comes under Krishna Avtar.

Pray truth for all and say Satsriakaal,

Dear all and Sunny_love_kirtan Jee,

Thanks for your Guess. The translator was but convinced and replaced Paarath with Arjuna and Hari with Krishan.

I am eager to know if one can do Jap of Krishna when Gurdev suggests the Jap of Hari.

Moreover, Gurdev used the word Arjuna also many times.

Are translators smarter or ignorant when they replace Guru's words?

Arjun was the son of Pandu, the King of Hastinapur and his wife Kunti. Kunti had summoned for Lord Indra (Lord of the Devtas in the heaven) with the help of the mantra given to her by Sage Durvasa. With the conjunction of Indra and Kunti, Arjun was born. One of the names of Kunti was Prutha. That is why Arjun is also known as Parth. Arjun was third of the five Pandavas. Arjun had also excelled in using his left hand for archery. That is why he was called “Savyasachi”. Arjun took over many regions and earned lots of wealth and so came to be known as “Dhananjay”. Arjun was such a peerless archer that he is often referred to as “Jishnu” - the invincible.

Arjun is considered to be an incarnation of Nara, the younger brother of Narayan. He is sometimes referred to as the 'fourth Krishna' of the Mahabharata.

Hari (Sanskrit: हरि) is an Avatar, another name of Viṣṇu and Krishna, and appears as the 650th

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hari

Me posting these sources seems like a joke to my self but do u really not know about this?

word paarth is not just used only once in the line posted above by original poster but its has been used many times in krishana avtar and it clearly refers to Arjun. You do not have to be ignorant for any reasons.

Guru Sahib ji used millions of names for akal purakh in jaap sahib. Guru sahib is free to Call Krishna whatever they want and your logic for jap of hari and jap of krishna is so childish. Then you would say jap of ram chandra when the Word Ram comes in gurbani. I am assuming that you know all these facts and you are just trying to confuse everyone with your innocent views. If you do know then for you kind information in gurbani many words which are same in reading and writing still hold different meanings.

if you again disagree with what i have said I would really love to hear the meanings of the lines from you. If you are very sure about the translator did not correctly translate the lines then you must have something to tell us which makes us think like the way you are thinking.

Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakaal,

Dear all and Sunny_loves_kirtan Jee,

Your Giaan seems to be Internet information.

Yudhisthira, Bhima, Arjun and Karna were also born of Kunti. They all were called Paartha.

All words from enlightened Gurus are understood from the listener according to his awakened mind.

Paartha is a son of Pritha aka Kunti. All are born with the combination of earthly body and a little or a little more God's consciousness. It is only when Hari's consciousness joins the Paartha and drives his (chariot) Ratha, he is able to win the battle against Kaurava.

Each word from Gurbani is conveying God's message. Only ignorant replace Guru's words and get lost.
