Hello, does anyone know what the laws into US are regarding the wearing of Kirpans? Specifically NY state

There have been several court cases in the USA relating to the legality of wearing a kirpan in public places. Courts in New York and Ohio have ruled that banning the wearing of a kirpan is unconstitutional. In recent years the Sikh practice of wearing a kirpan has caused problems for security personnel at airports and other checkpoints. Security personnel may confiscate kirpans if they feel it is necessary, but are advised to treat them with respect. VJKK VJKF!

It will be best if you wear kirpan underneath your clothing. As far as i know there is no law or rule that allow sikhs to wear kirpan openly. All states have their own rule so check with someone who is from New York. You can also contact Unitedsikhs.org as they are registered in New York and probably give you the best advice.

Thanks guys, I'll contact them and find out. Living in the US sucks regarding this matter. I hope to move to Canada soon and be surrounded by Sangat
