NEW DELHI: Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday to press for a Supreme Court-monitored SIT probe into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases in the capital.

"We want that a special investigation team be formed and it should probe the cases under the supervision of the Supreme Court. There are somany cases on which no action has been taken like the Nangloi case which has been pending for 25 years," he told reporters after meeting the Prime Minister.

Badal, who was accompanied by his son andstate deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, said his party has demanded that government should not appoint its counsels for arguing the cases related to anti-Sikh riots.

"They have said that the CBI would appeal in the high court against the (recent verdict on Sajjan Kumar's acquittal) on the issue. We demand that government counsels should not be appointed for it and they should be outsiders so that justice can be done," he said.

Badal said they have also demanded that action should be taken in the cases against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler also.

Very interesting comments on traitor badal in this article. Have a read.

Within two months of the 1984 carnage the Akalis entered into agreement with Congress (Rajiv Longowal accord) to sweep the killings in Delhi under the carpet in return for a Congress sponsored Akali return to power in Punjab after a sham elections. Let us have an SIT also to look into what the Akalis and BJP and other parties have done in 29 years to bring justice to the riot victims. Shame on all of those who sat in Parliament for 30 years and did nothing. Sikhs have only one leader that is Arvind Kejriwal

Parkash singh badal and Tohra were not involved in agreement with central Govt. They opposed it. It was Barnala and balwant singh who did this.Do not go after comments most of which are ridiculous and by right wing Hindus.

Are you talking about the same Badal who made Saini chief of Police of Punjab? Badal is probaly the most anti sikh ever!

He is dead wrong on saini's appointment. That is not the topic under discussion. He is a politician but lesser evil than congress touts like sarna who was challenging akal takhat and banned Dasam bani in Delhi Gurudawaras under a deep rooted conspiracy.

Opposition to the accord

On 26 July, Harchand Singh Longowal announced that the accord was unanimously approved by a congregation of former MPs, MLAs, ministers and jathedars. However, Gurcharan Singh Tohra (SGPC President) and Prakash Singh Badal opposed every clause of the accord.[1]:122 Even after a meeting between Longowal, Tohra, Badal and Surjit Singh Barnala, the differences persisted. On July 25, a group of Akali Dal leaders rejected the accord, calling it a "sell-out". Joginder Singh, the father of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, presided over an Akali Dali meeting, where he described Longowal, Barnala and Balwant Singh as traitors to the Sikh panth. The resolution passed at the meeting stated that these leaders did not represent the Sikh masses, and accused Longowal of diluting the Anandpur Sahib Resolution.[1]:123

But Brother, Akal Takht and SGPC is directly being controlled by Akali Dal (Badal) now, and indirectly by RSS, hence some of their recent decisions and statements such as -

Sadda Haq retract statement from Makkar.

Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale name inscribed on entrance pillars, door of memorial, removal of clock with picture of Sant Jee.

How is he less evil than Sarna?

When Badal are his allies BJP were in power for 8 years with Atal Bihari as PM, what justice they sought for 1984 Sikh Genocide?

SGPC is controlled by Badal akali dal and office of akal takhat comes under

SGPC.

But to say that they are indirectly under contol of RSS is incorrect. You may

not be knowing that there is a hukamnama of akal takhat against RSS asking sikhs

not to cooperate with them.

Ban on movie Sada Haq was wrong. But that does not mean that it was under RSS direction.

It was Badals who did when advised by bureaucrats.

Sarna was a congress agent controlled by congress whereas in Punjab there is a political

alliance between BJP and Akalis. It is for mutual benefit at this moment. It does not

amount to control of RSS as akalis have majority now in assembly and they really do not

care much about BJP as demonstrated in civic elections where they put independents against

BJP and they won handsomely.

In politics there is no permanent friend.

Brother, take this as a healthy discussion. Based on your points, I have a couple of FACTS -

Ban on movie Sada Haq was wrong. But that does not mean that it was under RSS direction.

It was Badals who did when advised by bureaucrats.

[ANS] The fuss was created in Punjab by Baandar Sena in Amritsar, Ludhiana etc. where they even broke some theatres who were supposed to screen the film, which was followed by watching the film just a day ago before it's release (Thursday evening) and was banned by Punjab Govt. Please Note, the initial fuss was created by Hindutva Baandar Sena RSS-bodies in Punjab which are directly controlled by RSS. I can even point some Youtube Videos over here by those Hindu terrorists threatening JazzyB and Kuljinder Siddhu. So, the bureaucrats and eventually Punjab Govt. took all the decision under the pressure of these RSS controlled bodies. I also have a strong feeling that Badal owns this Hooligan Baandar-Sena and this is a political gimmik to create fuss over issues which he wants to put under the carpet, very often reason "This might had led to serious Law/Order issues".

[ANS] It is TRUE that Sarna's are Congress Agents, so let's not repeat it again and again, I accept this, but what I am trying to say is Akali-Dal (Badal) is not doing any good to the Kaum, in the name of a Panthic party, they are backstabbers.

Yes, it is true that Akali-Dal is in complete majority in Punjab, but it is still not the case that they don't care about BJP, and I am not sure what mutual benefit is being served here?

Time and again, there is continous interference in Sikh Panthic issues, whether it is

- Blocking Ashutosh in Ludhiana (followed by Ludhiana Goli Kaand) - Interference by Baandar Sena, and Badal Govt. not doing necessary job (I can track all past historic sequence of events to prove my point).

- Bhai Rajoana protests, and un-necessary interference by Baandar Sena (followed by shoot-outs and killing of Bhai Jaspal Singh, no justice till date). Again, I can track all past historic sequence of events to prove my point, the alleged impotency showed by Akali-Dal Badal over here.

- Prof. Bhullar - Un-necessary interference by Baandar Sena. Earlier, it was Prakash Chand Badal who filed an affidavit in 2009 declaring Prof. Bhullar as hard-core militant.

- Appointment of Sumedh Saini as DGP, Punjab.

- Sadda Haq - Baandar Sena protests and immediate ban by Badal Govt. Was Badal Govt. not able to control Baandar-Sena hooligans? It was only after Kuljinder Siddhu approached Supreme Court and got the ban revoked, and now I am hearing reports that Badal Govt. has threatened theatres not to screen the film in Punjab, and lots of theatres are not screening it.

- Makkar SGPC Head, tracking back on his earlier statements in support of Sadda Haq pressurised by Badal Govt.

- The current controversy of Sant Jarnail Singh Jee Bhindranwale name on the memorial (June 1984 memorial) being pressurised to be removed by Badal Govt. (on pressure from Baandar Sena hooligans).

- The recent publication of a book by SGPC on the RSS Agenda.

" IF BADAL GOVT. BANNED SADDA HAQ TO PREVENT LAW/ORDER PROBLEMS, WHY THEY DIDN'T PREVENTED ENTRY TO ASHUTOSH IN PUNJAB AS NOTICE HAD BEEN GIVEN TO BADAL GOVT. THAT HIS ENTRY IN PUNJAB WILL CREATE LAW/ORDER PROBLEMS. WHY WAS BADAL GOVT. UNSUCCESFUL IN CONTROLLING BAANDAR-SENA HOOLIGANS DURING BHAI RAJONA PEACEFUL PROTESTS???"

It is true that Sarna's are agents of Congress, and since we know this, we can be careful of them, but Akali-Dal (Badal) in the name of Panthic party is much more poisnous and harmful to the Sikh nation.
