Question About Guru Granth Sahib And Technology

Recommended Posts

A statue is a piece of rock carved into the image of some deity that may help you focus on God.The difference is though that certain people ''WORSHIP'' the statue As If IT IS GOD !!!

This is what the Guru's warned and advised us against.

The Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the highest reverence to God since it is the WORD OF GOD and hence it is called the 'SHABAD GURU"

Therefore, there is a huge difference between the Word or shabad printed on paper and the carved stone.

When a Sikh BOWS to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji then they are NOT worshipping the granth as others 'Worship' the statue.

We are simply bowing and Submitting our selves (mind, body and soul) to HIM.- Thus you could call it ''offering your head, mind and heart''

Aad Guru Namah-- I Bow only to the Supreme Truth/Consciousness

Therefore, the Shabad itself is FROM that same Supreme Truth/consciousness.

NOTE the difference between worship and bowing to submit and surrender to His Hukam.

what about the educated hindus who don't worship the statues and know those statues arn't god but cause their image they treat that statue with respect what is the difference between that and how sikhs treat the guru granth sahib

A statue doesn't given any advice on how to live a better life. The Guru Granth Sahib gives practical guidance and gian which is there to improve the readers/listeners (Sikhs) lives and the entire humanity regardless of if Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist etc. Sikhs never diss any Hindu's for bowing to statues or the Muslims for bowing towards the black stone at Mecca. We just disagree with their beliefs. But if a stone helps them and they believe it gives them more guidance than Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji then don't hate on that but rather the leaders who control Hinduism and Islam in a political setting.

But sure we have to ditch any rituals that are manmat as Sikhi is against rituals and more about positive action

I have a separate drive of 103 GB for granth sahib ji and all the shabad kirtan,

Its very difficult to maintain all the norms or rules that we follow actually,.

If you would try to follow everything then your need to keep latop like Guru Granth sahib ji like matha tek and worship it.

You know when other sees us doing so they will think we are mad.

Better have a hardcopy of Granth ji that will be good. But if you are keeping thou In laptop don't watch porn n all dirty things.

You can do your programing and other works. Its not a problem, atleast you are learning something rather then not doing at all.

I have translated version whenever I get time I read it.but I never minimize and keep Granth sahib ji open And I even try not to talk while reading

Better clear your brain to read Granth sahib jI coz if brain is clean and thoughts are good then you not need to worry about other things :)
