When It Comes To Upholding The Dignity Of Guru Sahib And His Khalsa Panth.

Das was referring to bachitar natak !!

This site promotes all kinds of derogatory comments against those who don't believe in it - casting aside "na ko bairi nahi begaana "

We don't hold DG believers in the same kind of contempt as they do us. We believe its a case of love is blind with them whereas they call us agents of indian govt , RSS , paid to destroy panth etc ...

On this site I am routinely and lovingly called Missionary and nastik :) , although I dont full subscribe to their ideology - there are commanilities like a rational approach, rejecting mahaparukhs and obviously I concur only few parts of DG are Guru Gobind Singh's creation.

I reached my own conclusions and didnt get inspired from dhundha or darshan singh, in fact I didnt even know what missionary meant before I was called that here :) . Simply speaking studying ram avtar and kirshan avtar wont advance me spiritually the same way each shabad of SGGS does.

IMHO both sides should work towards unity - when brutal Indian govt unleashes its tyranny - it doesnt differentiate between dg believers and dissenters , nor would the crowd that would come charging with tyres to put around our necks next time some Indian leader is assassinated.

Don't know if this comment will see light of day , but if it does - thanks a ton to mods.

Sir, its one thing to disagree with someone, its something else to throw a harsh allegation that the other person "hates" you. I don't remember ever calling you a missionary or nastik, your beliefs are none of my business. In this free world you're free to have whatever beliefs you choose to abide by, no one has any right to torment you for it. If someone else called you something you found offensive, please use the Report feature in future.

Having said that, we've always maintained the stand that Sikhsangat.com is 100% pro Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji. When I say 100%, I mean the entire Bani of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji, not selective as you mentioned about your selective devotion to only some Banis.

Other than that, I agree with you about Sikhs uniting against their common foes inspite of their ideological differences.

bhul chuk maaf

Ok veer Mehtab Singh I am glad that no one here hates me ....afterall we are all brother in arms...

First off - I dont mind being called either Nastik (they are much better than bigoted fanatics - I have been one most of my life until i started studying SGGS) or Missionary (they are doing amazing seva by doing pind to pind parchar - taking people away from deravaad, mahapurakhvaad, nashey, patitpuna , jaat vaad )

Maybe it was not you it was someone else - I have two examples - one was a great and inspiring video during Bhai Gurbax singh's strike was deleted (even a broken clock can be right twice a day - and whatever happened to hating the ideas but not the person )

and other when 'brahmgyani' Thakur singh scared sangat that world will end in 2012 , my remark was removed saying no remarks against panthic personalities are tolerated.

Have you read DG cover to cover in its entirety - how can one be pro or against anything without fully understanding it ?

As mods of this site you have a great opportunity (given by akaal purakh himself) to foster maximum unity in panth as opposed to furthering polarization in an already highly factioned panth.

I don't think I as a manmukh have the simratha to understand Guru Sahib's agaadh bodh brahm beechaar Bani 100%, whether it is the paavan pavittar Bani of Dhann Dhann Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj or the paavan pavittar Bani of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji. Whatever sumath Guru Sahib has blessed me with, I can only bow my head before ALL compositions by ALL ten Guru Sahibaan.

How can we ever live our lives according to Gurbani if we think its beyond our understanding ? In reality SGGS is very easy to understand and implement in day to day living. .... I have never been in a state of greater bliss than since I started studying and living by Guru granth sahib jee ...

    • Found how to do it. For anybody else wondering, heres how. No one even helped me btw. So much for Guru Ji’s lhalsa always ready to help (and having their Singhs’ backs smh). (Notes: Aim to do this on a hot summer’s day, and dedicate a full day to this, since you only have to do this once every 4 months at least (normally the turban will stay in shape until you wish to untie it and physically pull it open again). This helps it to dry faster, since you have to starch it, HALF DRY IT, pooni it, tie it and then wear it for around four hours for the rest of it to dry, all in the same day. It’s a one day process but it serves you for months). This works for both the UK/Kenyan style (starch is best for this style) as well as the normal Punjabi paghs (such as Patiala shahi, wattan wali and morni paghs). Not sure about dumallas though. Probably not . Pagg Starch: 1) Boil 6 cups of water in a saucepan on low heat (always low heat) 2) Seperately dissolve 4 tablespoons of maida (all purpose flower) with a little water until it is 100% smooth.  You could also use rice or corn starch. Add more water if it is not a smooth liquid 3) Once completely smooth, pour this mixture through a strainer (to make it even smoother) into the boiling water. 4) Now continuously stir it until it goes completely see through. Keep on stirring it on the low heat until it goes totally transparent (it can take a little while to cook, but the pagg will last you for months!) It will at become a thick paste first, but keep stirring until it becomes see through and thinner.    5) Once it’s transparent, pour the starch (again through a strainer) into a big enough, clean bucket to cool down. 6) Once cool, take a clean, dry turban and completely and mix it in with the starch for around 5 minutes. Make sure that it is all evenly and completely soaked and wet with the starch. (Most people use mal-mal material, but I use full voile and I have used Rubia too. They’re all fine. Maybe use Rubin for smaller turbans and mal mal for larger ones) 7) Leave it out in the sun to HALF DRY ONLY!!!!!!! (Don’t ever let your starched turban fully dry before you tie it. If you do, then you will have to spray/ sprinkle water on it which will weaken the starch and ruin the turban) ONLY HALF DRY THE TURBAN IN THE SUN!!! 😎 Once HALF DRY ONLY take the now semi damp turban, and fold/pooni and then tie it like normal (straight on your head, with no base layer such as a Keski or patka underneath). Leave it on your head for around 4 hours just to fully dry and it will be ready and set for months now. Like I said, do try to tie your dastar every day, but if you can’t or really don’t want to, I hope this helps! Like I said this works on both the traditional Punjabi/Indian style paggs, and the more recent UK/Kenyan style paggs. It does for my morni pagg, but the first larr slips up in to the pagg. This is normal dw. Wjkk, Wjkf
    • I guess easier ways of learning have taken precedence. There are so many Youtube channels and podcasts available that people are more ready to listen for knowledge at their own leisure. There are so many great kathas available online that take months to listen, so that people may not really get the time to come here and write.
    • *Bump The current conflict (w/ Iran getting involved) is being orchestrated by a 3rd party in my opinion. We all are going to blame the Jewish community (how they run the banks, how they are brutal and etc.) but they have a point in this conflict.  As soon as people start finding about the truth that's when the real movement will begin.

    • Might delay Sikhs becoming a minority in Punjab for a few more years.  Do these students actually study and work in a related field after their course or is it purely for immigration?
