Are you serious?

You don't have any idea about so-called 'low-caste' Sikh are generally treated by the high and mighty???

It does not explain in the article How he was discriminated by other Sikhs.

Was he not allowed into a Gurdwara even though people from every creed, race, religion go to Gurdwarae every day all over India , or was he discriminated from a job which he would have preferential treatment due to caste quotas.

The media seems to make these blanket statements without any reason or details behind it and we do not question their meaning and follow what they say blindly like sheep.

Mate, I've seen enough from apnay with my own eyes to know what is reality and what is bull.

And I tell you what, the first thing closet jaat paat knobs try and do is play it all down. Just because people might be let in and out of Gurdwaras, it doesn't mean rampant snide, haughty, obnoxious, exclusionary treatment doesn't take place on a continual basis (that people don't like to face up to, in the same way people ignored the grooming issue for decades). Jeez dude, are you really that naive?

Please explain these exclusionary treatments that "lower caste" Sikhs receive from "higher caste" Sikhs. Which are the higher caste Sikhs and the lower caste Sikhs?

This thing is so ugly, I don't want to talk about it. For those of us who know what goes on: isn't weird how people are oblivious?

Ranjeet01 use the internet if you're really interested.

If you can provide examples that would be great. :)

Sikhi can't be all bad, since those high caste Sikhs provided him the board to live on their land, three square meals, paid him enough wages to send back to Bihar for him to buy land, property and money for his family. What's more he embraced Sikhi, it has empowered him to live amongst Sikhs which he has emparted with fellow Biharis.

Bro, Sikhi is not in question, its the attitudes of certain Sikhs towards other Sikhs thats the problem. Its not a one way flow either.

Perceived attitude is one thing, discrimination is another.

I think that caste is far more exaggerated issue in our community than we realise.

I asked this question to Dallysingh101, he could not answer it.

Can you ever get in your backward, casteist mindset that their are no castes in Sikhi? So who are your so called high caste Sikhs?

Do you have anything constructive to say instead of barking. You have made no effort in what I have said. You have no idea of the context of what is being said.

There is an underlying assumption that caste is an issue solely in particular of one group of Sikhs, one that is stereotypically shown as all puff chested and traditionally involved in farming and agriculture when it really isn't.

So I asked the question of what these examples of this discrimination that other groups of Sikhs get from this particular Sikh of which there is no answer.

I don't whether you are a born and bred Kiwi or one that came over from India on a student visa awaiting his PR but I have worked with many Kiwis and they are usually a very intelligent people and they would have had a much better understanding of what I have to say.
