But why do we not worship Bhagat Kabir, Bhagat Ramanand, or Sheikh Farid Ji. They were both merged with God and they taught gurmat principles. What makes our gurus distinguished enough to be worshipped?

You see, though Wahiguru is present and manifested in all these Sants, Bhagats, Guru Sahibans, the thing is, one needs not to worship them, neither they will ever tell you to worship them.

They will tell you, Wahiguru, Guru Jee, is much present in you also. Do His bhakti, through Naam Simran, subdue your ego, haume, your mind, with this jugtee...wash your karmas with this Amrit of Naam, thus become inmaculate and board the jahaaz of Naam then, and let this Shabad Guru, take you to the lap of Wahiguru.

This is the way set down by Wahiguru Himself, to get us back to Him. There are no other short cuts, neither any earthly manifestation of Him, can change this Hukum; because that is not their role.

Their role is to sing His apaar Mahima, and infuse His love in us, so that we may do His Bhakti as per His Hukum, for our jeevan mukti and thus get reunited with Him.

True Gurus, Bhagat Janas, Sadh Janas, will never ever tell anyone to worship them, because that will be brahamanvadee.

More over, it will be going against Gurmat, as the Bani says: Jin Har japeeya se Har hoeeya. Prabh kay Simran, garb na baseh.

You see, all devotion, bhakti, has only one purpose, and that is about our union with Wahiguru, who is within us.

Outside is all maya.

And the intention of the true Guru, is to make us conscious of that reality within us, which is called Naam, Shabad, Amrit Bani, Sachee Bani ... and through the jugtee of meditation or Simran, we wash our karmas, sanskaras, vikaars...become pure paviter, and allow the Shabad Guru, to take our surtees to Sach Khand.

That is when the Bani says: Baah pakad kar Gur kadeeya.

This Guru, is not the physical Guru, who has to discard His body one day, but the Bani refers to the internal and permanent Shabad Guru.

Shabad is Wahiguru, and He Himself, is also the Guru, the Aad Guru.

So in the end, it is all Wahiguru, though He comes to our level to make us understand, the higher and subtle truths(Gurparsad), which otherwise we manmukhs could never ever think about, thus use it for our spiritual evolution and become one with Wahiguru.

Thank you for Harsharan Paji for explaining this. Nice.

Simran Pen Jee,

whatever we say or explain, there has to be a logic in it. And true sense or logic, can be had by going through the very Bani, in a ample sense.

Somewhere we read something, and we may not be sure about it, but if we keep that in mind, and go thoroughly the Bani as said before, for sure we shall find the answers to our doubts.

The level of truths mentioned in the Bani are of the highest, as they are the very expressions of these Guru Sahibans and Bhagat Jan, and experiences/knowledge of first hand, and on the other side, it is we the lowly minded manmukhs, who hardly understand and agree among ourselves...

The Bani is so high and pure, that to have even a glimpse of the real meaning what is said, it may take us quite a few years.

For example my self, what I understand from the Bani today, has nothing to do with what I understood about, more than 4 decades, when i was in my early teens.

Of course, there is another way to speed that understanding and savoring the Anand from the Bani, and that is to rub our dirty minds, against the cleanser of Naam, through bhajan bandagee/simran, then as we gradually gain purity, we start seeing the marvelous Bani from a better position, until it becomes crystal clear one day.

I have seen lecturers and so called gyanis, misinterpreting the pure paviter Bani, it is not their fault that much, what can one do, if one does not bathe in the amrit of the wonderful Naam.

As said several times, Gurmat is not about talking big, but rather about putting into practice the message of our Guru Sahibans, which is Wahiguru and all spiritual wealth is inside you, and for you, so go inside as per instructions in Gurmat, and have your piece of cake, which nobody can snatch from you, it is for you.

That cake which satisfies all our hunger for the maya, the vikaars for once and forever, and that spiritual wealth, is none other than Naam; is also known as Shabad, which is same as Wahiguru, who is nowhere outside, but right within us.
