Thyar bar thyar vs the envuronsment

Wjkk wjkf. Is the environment more important to sikhs then to be thyar bar thyar (ready upon ready). Now it is no question every sikh, Whether they are a singh or singhni, should keep shastars on them, such as the kirpan which dasm patshah gave us, and encourage brothers and sisters to even buy a gun and be trained in the use of guns and other martial arts (including gatka). But the guru sahib also told us to keep and train in korsvari or horseback so we can use this skill in battle. The modern equivelant of a horse (because horses would be useless in todays conflicts)for battle would be a jeep. But the environmental impacts of the jeep from its emissions damage the earth and lead to global warming. So is it better to get a more fuel efficient vehicle and care for the environment and sacrafice staying thyar bar thyar with a jeep. An example of this is guru hargobind sahib ji and guru har rai sahib ji. Guru hargobind sab ji started miri piri making us saints and then soldiers. And as saints we should take care of our surrounding environment. Or the story of how guru har rai sahib jis palla hit and broke a rose head and guru hargobind sahib ji said play and walk carefully and do not destroy gods creation. I just wanted to know what the khalsa panth thought about this idea, should sikhs stay thyar bar thyar and get vehicles like jeeps even with the impact of the environment or should sikhs be more environmentally friendly with the sacrifice of being thyar bar thyar. Bulla chuka kehma muaf. Wjkk wjkf

Brother, don't take this the wrong way. I don't mean to be acerbic, but it seems you have fully imbibed the ideas floating around in eco-feminist Marxist milieus of higher education. If all of us were to have done so, there would have been no chance that our nation could ever have won any war, against the Mughals, the Afghans, or anybody else.

I think you are being entirely too imbued in shaant-ras. Now, while I don't think wholesale destruction of plant life is a good idea if there are other options, I don't think we have to worry about it in respect to such things as driving a truck or a jeep. I agree it's a tragedy to cut old trees just for the sake of it.

But not driving a truck because you're worried about a theoretical increase in pollution seems to be madness.

You seem to be asking very subjective questions where you don't ackwolegde situations at hand. These are not objective answers, but if you were going to ask if a horse could compare to a jeep, riding a horse and driving a jeep are two totally unique experiences, that you can't compare. But being Tyar Byar Tyar and being environmentally compassionate are not mutually exclusive, you can do both. You could use electronic powered vehicles, or hybrid vehicles and still get stuff done. (But yes, it's irrational to compare riding a living animal, and driving an inanimate object, the skills you learn from riding a horse, will tell you more about yourself and your patience compared to the vehicle which will just tell you how to turn left or right or follow signs).

What's wrong with Daya for the enviornment, don't change the topic from driving a jeep to not caring about what nature has. Same thing I said to O.P. they both aren't mutually exclusive, you can do both.

    • A Sikh raaj that all but collapsed as soon as Ranjit Singh drew his last breath due to incompetence, greed and unintelligence of Sikhs. A Sikh raaj that was more concerned about inclusivity of Musleh and Hindus than prioritising Sikh interests and Sikh personnel. Rather than investing in disloyal non-Sikh mercenaries, where was the drive to recruit Sikh individuals who could be moulded using the Sikh identity as a binding force? Talk about low Sikh numbers, then where was the parchaar? Why build mosques and mandirs? Weree there not any in the rest of India? Muslims and Hindus had their empires, yet when we finally fought and won ours, we were more concerned with virtue signalling and placating these hyenas pretending to be our friends. Treachery and deception played its part, but even those issues could've been mitigated by a ruthless and Sikh-prioritising leadership. The Dogras and the Sikh spies reporting to the British were not a great mystery even at the time. A Night of Long Kirpans (Google it but replace Kirpan with Knives) might have meant a Sikh empire that was still around today. Blame the British and the rest, quite rightly at times, but the burden of the betrayal falls on us.
    • Logic being that when we had our Sikh raj society was much fairer no one went hungry when maharajah ranjit singh passed poor people it is said he gave away something to keep the people looked after. Sikh raj where all people was treated equally no religious community got to oppress the other, and there was equality of opportunity in his government and army too. Look at the capitalist societies today there is incredible wealth at the top 1% and incredible poverty at the bottom 99% of the pyramid. When we had muslims ruled over punjab we saw non-muslims were treated as 3rd class citizens and brutally oppressed same as christian british rule they racially oppressed the natives. And what do we have in present day punjab? its the elites all banding together keeping their chairs safe against the interests of the people they claim to represent. So we have the badals and captain amrinder singhs who are related by marriages. They pretend to be Sikhs, they appear to be sikhs but wWhat have they done for Sikhs and Sikhi? zero contribution really.......they have let the british and indian establishment drain the wealth of punjab dry. Why do they allow it? because they are leaders and puppets of the same corrupt regimes thats responsible for oppression sikhs and sikhi. The British establishment covers for the genocidal crimes of the indian establishment. Why? because the "elites" of these establishments have hoarded away the wealth stolen from our nations and communities so naturally like a den of thieves they look out for each other against the people they stole off from.
