Dear intrigued veer

I hv a question.

Bhai Pheru was one of the 6 bakhshishiyan of the udasi order known as sangat sahibas.

History as well as kalgidhar chamatkaar says Guru Sahib tied His half turban on bhai Pheru's head.

It means bhai pheru ji must be wearing a small dastaar on his head on top of which Guru Sahib tied His half turban.

Nihang Sher Singh ji and many present udasis say that all their saints used to wear seli topi.

What do u make of this?

Perhaps not all the udasi saints have worn seli topi. What is more likely is that as time went on and udasis separated themselves from Sikhi, it became more common for them to wear the seli topi and adopt the garb of a sadhu.

Those who followed the guru would have worn the dastaar

We can see at what time udasis began separating from the panth by looking at literature and the paintings of different time periods.

For example, this is a mural in Akal takht showing Siri Chand with matted hair and earrings:

Any idea when this painting was created? Looks to me to be around 19 century art...

ive seen recent article discussing more and more about udasis

baba sri chand ji promoted the chola and dastar of his gurupita, dhan sri guru nanak dev paatshah

agree with intrigued, seli topic likely became a development after the era of dehdhari prakash of Guru Sahiban

perhaps giani sher singh did not elaborate on the chronoloy of events because by 19th century this might have been the development

an interesting question that inspires another I am not sure whether to post here or in a different forum

but any historical reference to nirmalas adorning white bana in 18th century as brahm gyani sant baba gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale have said and many others agree

I will take the word of Sant ji. He had high avastha and beant Gyan.

I would like to see the good sikh minded udasis wear white too.
