Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

4 years ago I was in Punjab and I remember I went to this sant in some pind in punjab with my aunt.

I don't remember Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji being there, I was told to do matha tekna infront of a picture (there was an old man in the pic, he is dead now) there was flowers etc around the picture.

Then we sat there for hours hours and spoke to the sant.

It might seem stupid for you that I ask on this forum, but I'm curious to know which function these sants have in India?

Anyone know?

This is the function which so-called Sants 'should' serve:

kbIr syvw kau duie Bly eyku sMqu ieku rwmu ]

kubeer saevaa ko dhue bhulae eaek sunth eik raam

Kabeer, it is good to perform selfless service for two - the Saints and the Lord.

rwmu ju dwqw mukiq ko sMqu jpwvY nwmu ]164]

raam j dhaathaa mukath ko sunth jupaavai naam

The Lord is the Giver of liberation, and the Saint inspires us to chant the Naam. ||164||

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Pyare jio, veer ji, most of these sants just prey on innocent people, just like pundits did before. I saw many of them in my visits to India.

In my life I have only met one, who I felt some essence of sikhi, and that was Sant Iqbal singh from Baru sahib. I have now come to the conclusion, that anyone who intentionally wears white clothes, in a sant uniform, has other intentions than the Glory of the khalsa Panth.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
