dhunaasuree mehulaa 5

Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:

har har leenae sunth oubaar

The Lord saves His Saints.

har kae dhaas kee chithuvai buriaaee this hee ko fir maar

One who wishes misfortune upon the Lord's slaves, shall be destroyed by the Lord eventually. ||1||Pause||

jun kaa aap sehaaee hoaa nindhuk bhaagae haar

He Himself is the help and support of His humble servants; He defeats the slanderers, and chases them away.

bhrumuth bhrumuth oohaa hee mooeae baahurr grihi n munjhaar

Wandering around aimlessly, they die out there; they never return to their homes again. ||1||

naanuk suran pariou dhukh bhunjun gun gaavai sudhaa apaar

Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Destroyer of pain; he sings the Glorious Praises of the infinite Lord forever.

nindhuk kaa mukh kaalaa hoaa dheen dhuneeaa kai dhurubaar

The faces of the slanderers are blackened in the courts of this world, and the world beyond. ||2||15||

waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh

Pyare jio, i think it needs to be clarified these Gurbani shabads do not specifically speak of the sants in white cholas. But the shabad speaks of real sants, who could be any Gursikh, with saintly inclinations.

There is also bani which decribes many so-called saints as "Benaras Ke Thug". Unfortunately most of the white cholas sants are like that today. Week after week we here of these sants. Dhanwant singh raping young girls, Maan singh with his problems, baba karnail singh on another thread with his Darshan dass clan, Coventry Nanaksar baba dancing at the Nagar keertan.

The real sants are those who immerse themse in bani, and spread it, who do not like attention, and sit at the back. Bhai Rama singh ji was a perfect example.

waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh

Waheguroo jee kaa Khalsa

Waheguroo jee kee Fateh

Pyareo, i think it is very clear from the shabad itself that

sant = har ka daas = jann.

Here, Saint is a person who is in saran of the Guru. Nowhere is a white chola sant mentioned.

Waheguroo jee kaa Khalsa

Some people do not seem to understand that sants di sangat does not mean men in white only but also the people that come into the Gurdwara with a Nike top. A sant is anyone that is a true sikh (I think) so sant sangat would be sangat of those that are proper Gursikhs and slandering them would not be advisable.

I read in the link below that nowadays it is so easy to become a 'modern' sant but hard to become a 'sikh', interesting read and has a point:

http://www.gurmat.info/sms/smspublications...aan%20Singh.pdf

at the same time we can not deny that the sants that dress in white are also sants and sometimes better than the ones that come in sportswear. The sants in white are the ones sent by God to help Sikhs (and there are those that choose themselves and so adopt the white gear), eg. Baba Nand Singh Sahib Ji was a chosen one- if Baba Ji had lived a normal sikh life (married) then they would not have been able to spread their message as far, they had only one purpose and to fulfil that they did not have the need to be like normal people but instead they stood out and IMO there is nothing wrong with that either.

They had one purpose, fulfilled it, and left for Sachkhand again.
